Telesolutions International - Harassing

I am an employee of Telesolutions International, and it is a well known fact throughout the company that, if you ever hang up on anyone or lie on any information that is on the script we all have, we will be immediately terminated from employment, and they even constantly warn all employees that they need to read the script verbatim, because the FTC monitors a good percentage of calls and with this type of business where some "crooked telemarketing" companies take advantage of people they have to.

But I know for Telesolutions themselves, you are entered into the sweepstakes, weather you buy a magazine or not, and in actuality there is NO obligation to buy anything at all from telesolutions to be entered into the $50 000 grand prize sweepstakes. You even entered if you just pick up the phone and hang it up so no its not you will win 50k if you buy a magazine. But in conclusion Telesolutions International is a very upstanding company who treats their customers AND employees with only the greatest of respect.

They called my wife with the usual -$50,000 won in a sweepstakes. When I told them to stop calling, the person who called said they would not stop calling. The continued calling; sometimes they would just hang-up, others they offered me the deal. This went on for about a week - getting called 2-3 times/day. I filed a complaint with the FTC. I am not the only the victim. Search on Google for "Telesolutions International" and you will see.

As to what the employee is saying, Braiden Harvey, the owner of Telesolutions Intn'l, is probably the one who wrote that rebuttal. They are out to steal your money. Any one who calls up and says that you want money, and they want your credit card number is a thief. If I really won $50,000, why not deduct the magazine or whatever you're offering from my $50,000...

I have worked for Telesolutions for about a year now. As to the hang-ups the person experienced, our dialers are set to have a few second delay when the customer answers ,so there is NO excuse for the caller hanging up. While I won't say that this company is totally perfect, they do cover all information in the script. Yes they are selling magazines for $3.85 a week, the reps will tell you that you aren't under any obligation to but to be in the sweepstakes. The verifiers make sure you know what you are paying and when. They even have you repeat it to be sure you understand.

With that said, I wish to comment on the first rebuttal. I'm sure that this was not written by a regular employee. This company does not treat their employees with respect or anything liked it. I also find it interesting that the person was from Winnipeg, Saskaewan. Ther is no Winnipeg Saskatewan. It is in Manitoba.

I worked for Telesolutions International for a period of 7 months. The entire workplace is extremely dishonest. At the employee's end they are not allowed sick days they get harrassed for not coming in to work.

If someone does not like the job when they are first starting out, they don't get paid for the work they have done. The workplace is rampant with drugs and sexual harrassment from Managers (Chris Sheppard).

The owners do drugs as well which only contributes to the problems. The government may want to investigate Sunday shifts at this workplace nobody claims the money that they make on Sunday on their income taxes.

Brent and Braiden are a crooked as the verifying department which is actually run by an ex-con that did hard time. As for Dave Mitchell he is a dispicable human being and is rude to all employee's.

Im sum Telesolutions needs to be shut down, Braiden and Brent need to go to re-hab then open up a legitamit business. Pls email me the information about this situation I have produced a false name to protect my indentity but I have much more incriminating information at my disposal.

I got a job a Telesolutions because they make it sound amazing. The money to be had is crazy, they said. They say it is a soft sale. Well it was far from it.

If you aren't selling enough they yell at you in front of everyone. The managers talk down to the employees and basically treat them like second class citezens. If you are not pulling "your weight" you get sent home and if you call in sick they treat you like garbage.

They also told me that they would not be paying me for the time that I did put in there. I am still fighting with them in regards to that.

Some of the people that work there really shouldn't be. They yell at customers and swear at them. If they don't like the customer they will put them on redial even if they have asked to be taken off the list.

Nothing is monitored. They say they provide constant one on one training for the first 3 weeks that you are there but I was put on my own the first 1.5 hrs I was there.

In closing, I do not recommend anyone working there and warn all consumers not to buy the magazines that they are selling. It is a fraud. For example you are told that you are calling from UMA in Las Vegas, Nevada when in fact the call center is in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Let's face it.. this place (based in Canada) is just plain awful. I had a terrible issue with them. They kept calling day after day after day. The phone would ring many times each day. It was always them. There was a period where the phone would ring, and I would answer. I would hear a click and nobody would be on the other end. I would stay on the line until I head the line disconnect. My caller ID actually showed Telesolutions once when I heard the click and was disconnected. That's how I figured it was them. I also received actually people from Telesolutions that offered me products. I would tell them to quit calling, but the wouldn't. It is unfortunate that this company is in Canada. I guarantee that if they were in the U.S. they would get shut down. They are in Canada so they can escape certain legal jurisdictions and call, harrass, and annoy U.S. customers. It's a real shame and I wish Canadians would do something about this shoddy operation. It even sounds like working there is terrible. Why can't somebody in Canda get this place shut down? What a nuisance to society they are.

Telesolutions are a bunch of crooks. I worked there for 4 months and even though I made good money I seen alot of crap. As soon as they get your credit card they are charging it before you agree to anything. alot of the people taking credit card numbers are ex cons. This place needs to be under police investagation. The diamond watch is a piece of crap worth about 5 bucks at the most , I seen it. Alot of kids get their first jobs here and feel like crap after they quit. The place is also a fire trap, I don't think it had too many exits.

I moved to winnipeg to go to university and needed a part time job real fast. The place that stood out was telesolutions in the paper. It seemed like awesome money , and and maybe a great job. Well I went for my interview which took like 2 minutes and I was accommpanied by 5 other intervewies at the same time. I thought it was strange how 5 other people could have an interview with you. Nevermind that these people looked like they didnt even shower before, I at least dressed appropriate for a dam job interview .Thats just the beginning.

I went back to my apartement a little skeptical about the whole situation but thought that I would try it out.So along came the following thursday and there I was sitting in a crappy room filled with 20 others listening for 5 hours and being "trained" on how to handle the job and so and so. The friday came and oh again thrown into the crappy stinky room for about an hour. The twenty of us were split and divided amungst the four rooms of telemarketers. Were do I begin about the rooms, they are smaller than my bedroom they contain about 25 computers with cheep walling around each computer and the computers sit on what looks like used school desks that i used to sit in in highschool.

The room i was in always smelled funky I guess it was a mixture of different smells coming from some dirty telemarketers. Beleive me people they hire anyone and anybody. I wouldnt buy nothing from these people if I seen them in person.

There were some hopefuls and some that looked like desperate university students like me so those ones at least kept me sane knowing that they were in the same boat. Im going to get to the point pay sucks I never made over $8 and hour and I made usually 14 sales a week.They advertised that you can make about 10 an hour plus bonuses and comision its impossible to make bonuses. Telesolutions is crap the more I write the more I recollect about that dump hole. Then theres the room managers. Mine was William the ex lawyer or so he says. I wonder how a lawyer can go from there to telesolutions. Sucks to be him.

Anyways he makes his wages by how many sales his room makes. Will has talked about me when I call in sick, Which they threaten to fire you when you do call and he has threatened to send me home if I havent made a sale in the first hour. Hes hit on me, made rude remarks and also he broke something or threw something in the room everytime he got made wich seemed like always.

Besides my nasty coworkers the room manager that I unfortunatly had was the devil.And an ugly one at that. In my opinion telesolutions should be closed down permanently but then I was thinking that it might not be such a good idea because the streets are already filled with bums and I just dont know how many more the streets of Winnipeg can handle. Thats why university is a must and im happy to say that I only stayed at telesolutions for a couple days and from that experiance I no longer skip university classes!

I agree with most of the negative postings about the company. You feel constant stress to make a sale, otherwise you threaten being 'sent home' in mid-day without pay.

The starting wage is lower than they claim in the paper...the lowest of minimum wage, and in order to make money you do need to sell quite a few magazines...a weekly number that I couldn't do, as I was determined NOT to hassel people on the phone and took many off our lists.

NO WONDER some citizens are flippin' rude to telemarketers if they are being *asked* to not be called, and are still called regardless!

I was sick once, came into work, and was doing my job well...but I got booted that day anyway. NO CONCERN over the fact that I had almost passed out in the washroom earlier (I was white), nor shaking.

As a University student trying to secure a job earlier on in the summer, I thought it would be a 'soft selling' job where I simply DESCRIBED a service and answered potential customers' questions. I didn't know I'd have to be pushy (which I WOULDN'T be...so I gave my notice) and what's more...they always talk about "taking the control" away from the potential customer.

When I argued that I wanted to make sure the customer knew, WITHOUT a doubt, what they were getting and whatnot, I was told just to secure information and get them to say 'yes' and then use that person as a 'lead' to give to a closer. And the closers are the BEST of the pushy sellers who are promoted because they probably can confuse or swindle anyone.

I'm right in the process of phoning the company right now to enquire about several checks worth $300.00+ dollars. HARD earned dollars, I might add - I HATED that job - AND I GAVE proper two weeks notice.

If they try to jip me, I'm contacting the better business bureau. Probably will, anyway.

I am a Closer with Telesolutions,and it is a known fact that all employees are treated well and actually some are even treated like family, i've now know Braiden and Brent for 10 months,and they have made me feel like an integral part of the company,they treat me well and even have helped me with personal issues i've delt with in the past,as for the managers they are all great role models for the TSR'S. They are always encouraging and looking out for their rooms,anyone who says differently obviously didn't do their jobs very well and thats why they are no longer employed by us

Telesolutions prides itself on hiring low-life losers who are willing to work for minimum wage. Most of the Telesolutions staff that I met were either meth addicts, criminals or white trash. The owners of the company are concerned only with money and how they can get ahead. In regards to Matt's comment: Matt, as soon as Braiden and Brent have no use for you, you'll no longer be treated as "family". They have a history of treating their managers great, then turning a cold shoulder on them when they no longer find you useful. You'll see.

As for anyone considering working for this company, don't. It's a shitty job with shitty pay and the quality of people working there is pretty much as low as you can get.

The most degrading and dishonest job ive ever had was at telesoloutions. Or the UMA(United marketing Association) as they like it to be called. They had to change the name years back due to legal problems. It used to be called TSI until they got in legal trouble$.

The whole call with the customer is based on many lies which are slowly found out the longer you work for the company. First, it's nowhere near Las Vegas,(its in Canada) secondly there is no sweepstake held by us.We promise a "Anual sweepstake held for customers of visa, mastercard etc....giving away 25000, a new chevy tracker and a trip to hawaii plus hundreds of valuable prizes.)" There is no money, vehicle or trip or prizes for that matter. Just a quick lie so you dont hang up the phone everytime.

After filling out four useless survey questions made to help match the customer's interest to the magazine package we tell them that they will receive "3 free magazines for 60 months and a catalog with HUNDREDS of other magazines to change your selections as often as you wish.....free of charge along with a 150$ diamond watch." By this time some customers feel as if they are getting free merchandise for answering the useless questions. Then we say "you'll also be receiving a weekly magazine everyday for 60 months. It is the only one we ask your help for with and it has been discounted to $3.84 a week. (Ring a Bell?) SO JUST THAT ONE OKAY." I feel like I'm commiting a crime everytime they say yes.

The customer almost always says yes because most employees mumble that part anyway. This "amazing catalog with HUNDREDS of magazines" has at last count 98 titles to pick from which are outdated and obsolete. We are told that we cant see them all because there are to many to pick from and it would distract us from our job. (Dont feel bad, they lie to us just as much.)

Everyone has there own version of how they read the script and never are your punished for that. There is no such thing as verbatim and We are rarely ever monitored and are constantly pushed for more sales in fear of being sent home.

In case you were wondering $3.84 a week for 60 months comes out to just under one thousand dollars over five years. (Alot of money to pay for some lousy magazines.) We are taught to say things that give people the feeling this is a good deal and they can afford it. Even if they tell us they have five kids and no job. Like "3.84 cents a week is perfect because it fits everyone's budget, you can pay as little as you like as you read and enjoy."

This is not the case as the only payment plans are 33 payments of $30 or 15 of $60. Not only that but they are consecutive payments so they are paid evey month via credit card untill the thousand dollars is paid off. That way the company gets there money quicker before you cancel the credit card to avoid the payments. After you realize the catalog sucks and most of the magazines are over stuffed with ads.

At one time Telesoloutions DID have hundreds of magazines in their catalog untill most of the publishers wanted nothing to do with the business behind the telemarketing and withdrew their titles from it's listing. Making them switch from the script "Hi this is James from TSI in las vegas" to the new "Hi Im calling from the UMA to let you know you were entered in the dream come true sweepstakes." YADA YADA YADA

As far as why I was being employed there, where else can you work from after-school till 10:30, get paid every week and come away with $250 at least every weekly paycheck. The problems start though with all the extra time you stay every day. First off, you have to be there 10 minutes before you start getting paid to get the daily speech, leave 2 two ten minutes late and are obligated by the "Sign Up" sheet to go every wednesday to Advanced Training which is about twenty minutes of learning how to lie and hustle better by taking control away from the customers during a call and how when a customer asks how the payment plan works say "I am a little new at this so im not to sure how all that works" even if youve been around for years. Add up all that time over a month and your looking at about $60 dollars stolen from you monthly. I must say though, contrary to what others are saying about their room managers, mine was great. Morley was probably my only motivation for staying there and I feel that he is a great person. Even though he feeds me the same lies about the company as everyone else. After all, that is what he is paid to do.

We are on constant video recording in each room and are piled in each room as close as possible. Im rather short and can touch each side of my cubicle with my elbows when my arms are extended outward.

I dont know why i stayed there for so long but its probably because my room supervisor(boss) was so nice and because the two 12 minute breaks made it kinda, sorta, worth it to stay there. After all where else do 100 people betwwen the ages of 15 and 25 all go on break all at the same time. Not only that but it seemed that there was at least two new people hired everyday.Not to mention the public pool hall nearby. Dont ever work there or buy the magazine package it sucks. As far as someone's rebuttle saying "i felt like familly while I worked there" They probably only like you because you make more than one sale a day and are too stupid to find a better job.

I apologize to all those whom i've sold magazines to as i was only doing my job and would like to thank all those who took the time to listen.

P.S Always say the following words instead of merely hanging up or saying "Im not Interested".....Please put me on you Do Not Call List. It decreases the chance of us pressing redial.

I have been employed with Telesolutions for quite a few years now. I had a natural sales ability and excelled to the closing room position within about a week after employment. First of all let me say that all of the negative comments said about the workplace are true. The managers are only nice to you when you are able to make a sale. After you get promoted to closing they become abusive, two-faced and very neglegant towards your sales ability. They humiliate you in front of the entire room even if you are the top seller. They are always pushing for more and more sales no matter who you are. The managers claim to be business professionals when half of them seem to have the IQ of an 8th grader or less. I could go on for days about how disrespectful they treat their employees but I wont bother...Most of the previous posts have summed it up quite well. I just wanted to put in my 2 cents and warn any consumers to never give out their credit card information over the phone to our employees. We will screw you over and take your money. I apologize in advance for this because I am still employed there. This place is a trap!

Again i write in disgust in the regards that many people are writing false propoganda towards the UMA,in regards to this we are located in Las Vegas Nevada, we do have a sweepstakes, and employees who are treated with disrespect are bringing it on themselves, I have grown to develop great friendships with many of the closers,managers,owners as well as TSR'S, and from what i've discovered is that all the negitive comments that are being posted on this site are from former employees who are upset because they have lost their jobs or they just didnt do their jobs well and quit so they decide to try and bring the company down, as i have previously touched on, Telesolutions is a great work enviroment with many advancement oppurtunities as well as a great paying job for students and people who just need the spending money,,I have had my disagrements with things that have happned at work,but i know that i enjoy my job and have nothing bad to say about the company,anyone who does obviously doesnt understand that "telemarketing" is a job and not a place to slack and get paid for it...

i worked there for 2 months.... from the beginning it was stupid ... after 3 days of workin i had to get my wisdom teeth pulled and i got a doctors note and shit.... still they cut my bonus and commissions for that week , which is bullshit..

telesolutions is one of the worst jobs i have ever had in my life... the only thing good about it was the money... the weeks i did good i would make 3 hundred... the job sucked soo much even my room manager quit around the time i quit. Most of the people that are hired there are either crack heads or coc fiends. the reason they hold your pay cheque is for that reason , most of the people are soo high and they dont relize if they just leave they dont get there money, so when that happens Brent and Braden get to keep the money

lastly the worst thing about working there if you are good at selling they dont wanna let you go...they would not accept my 2 weeks notice... my room manger ripped that shit up right in front of my face because i was a good seller and they did not want me to quit... so i went there the next day and i filled out another one and tryed to give it to the G.M. (general mananger of the shift) he was like this is what i think of your 2 weeks.. he walks up to the garbage and put it in there... so i got feed up and just left it in the front office.. and when i came to pick up my last cheque they were all like did u complete ur 2 weeks and stuff and i had to fight to get my last cheque... even tho i completed my 2 weeks and everthing...

overall telesolutions is crap ... the people that work there have no choice to work there .. they need the money and no one else will give a a ex con a full time good with decent pay

The only reason mat from winnipeg is calling this telesoultions international company HIS family is because he sucks up to them , so he can get himself up in the company.. If You do good there one day they treat you so great' and nice if you do bad' they throw u a side like everything and every one else, they dont build u up they just get mad or try to talk u out of how u really feel; and what you really know about them...all they care about is control of you as person not a seller its all about you they want to know they are always in control not you. Sometimes the company is ok sometimes they just treat you so un fair.. apparently.. this is what i hear from people I hate this job i hate these managers all day all day long! on breaks etc. The closers are really nice people and deserve not be sweared at they just do their job the best they can they may not always being able to get sales thats b/c people know the payments would be dumb, in reality we hate selling this to people some of the people we talk to in the states are so nice and deseve better then to have to pay 1000 for magazines for 5 yrs... no one pays that much and wants magazines for 5 yrs... come on! These Buyers deserve better sorry to every one who buys its our job though

Telesolutions is not the most honest company in the world, I admit and I've been in the business for over 8 years. They're tactics are out-of-date and I've never responded well to bullying. I know I'll probably get shit from Tim tonight when I go in but I don't care. When you're sick, you're sick and I always bring in doctor's notes. But Telesolutions isn't the only criminal out there. There are bigger corporations (like Telespectrum and Faneuil) that were just as bad before the union came in. One of the worst offenders is SR&J Customer Care Centre. In fact, the product that Telesolutions International is now selling was once a product that we sold at Telespectrum and believe me the push for sales was just as bad. I'm not there to make friends but I am there to pay some bills. I resent Gary's implication that we are all crackheads or drug dealers. There are alot of hard-working intelligent people there who are just trying to get by. We know the job is a crappy job but after you reach a certain age, it is hard to find a job that meets your needs. I like the weekly pay and if they take away my bonuses or commission for not making enough hours so be it. I always tell the caller where I'm actually calling from and try to make sure they know what they're getting into. I read the script verbatim but I refuse to pitch to children. I always ask for the spouse or anyone over 18. People have free will and can say no (I will have to rebuttal at least twice) or better yet tell us to put you on the Do Not Call list. It usually takes 24 to 48 hours to process but it does work. I have found Americans are always looking for a deal or beter yet something free. I just wanted you all to know that I am a human being too and do not have to take someone telling me to fuck off or be abusive otherwise. I've met some genuinely nice people and if they got ripped off by this company then I apologize. But as a couple of people have said, we are not all losers and crackheads. Some of us are homemakers and people who otherwise would have ahard time finding jobs. Do I like what I do or as I am often asked by customers do I feel good about doing it? Hell, no, it is what it is! I am not a child and do not need to be lectured by employers or customers. Does everyone love their job? I think not! One day this company will either evolve or be shut down but please don't think that all telemarketers are scummy, drug-using losers! We're not! That's all I wanted to say.

I agree it is a great place to work. I mean sure there are things to improve. But i have never worked any where that there are not things to improve. The management does care about me. They don't bully us, they just want us to work hard. I mean the harder I work the more money I make if they want to remind me about this great.

I am a relatively new employee of the company and I saw this site and I want to voice some things. It's business, plain and simple, when did it become wrong to work staff hard because the managers want to make money!? Yes, I will admit, it gets a little extreme and the management is pretty harsh, but they are running a business, and it's the management's fault (by default) that people leave the company, but they are still making money and hiring new staff and some have been there in a while, because it pays the bills and they don't mind the work. Or else they would not be in business today, and as far as the "scam" idea goes, well, they either have been able to pull one crazy blanket over our eyes for 8 years, or they have to be doing something right. With the magazines, when we buy them off the shelf, yes, some don't but some do and spend double the cost of them over the same time frame, I know personally, I would spend at least $2000 on magazines in 5 years, some people like them, some people don't it's all up to the customer, and yes, we will say everything to you for you to purchase, but that's our job, it's like the annoying car salesman, it's apart of life and you will never get away, we live in a consumer hungry filled world with marketing and advertising people who do their job's well and work very hard for it, it's hard to get people motivated to sell items to people, but it's done everywhere, this method is just a little more direct and can be an inconvenience to some, it's like the billboard, some people see a half-naked woman and are offended, but then some see it and want to be apart of them. The long lasting co-workers I work with are people who are working because they have to and it's a place where they can succeed and make a decent dollar for entry level position and it's a job and pays the bills (and we all have 'em and pay 'em), alot of them have a past (seriously who doesn't), but if they are long-term there, they have to be doing something right which keeps them there. For the "unsightly/smelly" people, they need to work too, it's not right to call down other people about that sort of thing, Telesolutions is very anal about, respecting each other's differences, if you are sportin' a 'tude, you are going to get one back (just like... absolutely everywhere, wow, what a shock). Like every job, working at Telesolutions may not be right for you. I don't know why do all the complaining because I don't hear sweatshop workers in China complaining about the REAL unfit working conditions (30+Celcius, 10cents per garmet), working in a tight room is not easy, but as most things, "10% is what happens to you, the other 90% is how you react" so if you are unhappy think about how you can better react to the situation, rather than expect it to change for you (ie...tough managers, smelly fellow tsr's, rude customers, and tight working spaces). Take a step back...and see it from that point.

I've seen a lot of bad items posted here about this company I'm currently employed with. YES, we're telemarketers. But some of us, through this corporation, are able to make good money doing it. Why? Because this sort of marketing is legal, licensed, and most obviously: IT WORKS. Our campaign, THAT AN AMERICAN MARKETING FIRM HAS **HIRED** US TO ENGAGE, is to simply qualify US credit card owners to be entered in the annual "Dream Come True" Sweepstakes. Everyone that confirms their possession of a major credit card product becomes eligible.

We ask a few simple, relatively non-personal survey questions. Then we move on to our promotion, and offer them a diamond watch - IF they choose to participate in this promotion. We then offer 3 free monthly magazines (a wide variety in a mailed catalog), and then ask for their support in only 1 weekly publication.

Our script has us CLEARLY explaining the service, and the benefits therein. There is NO gimmick or scam involved in our offer, as our client's license with the FCC demonstrates! When we get people on the phone that snap back at us "Do not call me anymore. take me off your list." we disposition the call as such. (At least I do) :)

I've been a return employee now for just over a week. Telesolutions now has a nice new office we work out of on Main St, in Winnipeg. We have support staff. We have a friendly atmosphere. We have managers and admin staff that SMILE at you when they walk by, and they are more than happy to answer any questions I've had so far. They know the system, what works, and they make sure we are educated on proper tried-and-true selling techniques.

This is what I have seen. But as for myself, I believe I'm doing well, averaging 2-3 sales a day in my first week. Today I had zero. But nobody treated me like a zero. There are good people there, some experienced, extremely strong salesmen and women.

All I want out of this company is the chance to be like them, and I'll close here by saying that I believe a lot of the negative comments on this page are from people that have told themselves that they can't be like them.
