For our one year anniversary we went to Carmel CA to spend a relaxing weekend together. We decided to splurge and stay at a very nice 4 star hotel, after all it was our 1 year and and it was just one night. We booked our hotel stay through expedia.com. The hotel was nice, but we did feel that it was over priced, but oh well we enjoyed our weekend. Then the mistake happened, the hotel charged us as well as expedia.com. The double charge is annoying and has been hard to get fixed, but here is the real problem, The amount that the hotel charge us was about $200 less than what expedia charged us. After speaking with expedia was I told that the hotel is not supposed to disclose this information and that the higher price is a price negotiated between the hotel and expedia.......So if you use expedia be prepared to pay a lot more!!

We were totally ripped off by using expedia and we don't want it to happen to you. So let's be smart consumers and don't use this web site. Our advice, just book directly with the hotel and be very careful using these sites and claim to make your vacations easier. We are still trying to fix ours, one month later.
