I participated in the Real Weight Loss Study of the One Day Diet (Products for Life) and followed all of the many time-consuming and difficult requirements. The company states that if you follow the directions exactly that you will get paid $1000 for losing weight.

I dieted every other day only eating fruits as directed for three months and followed all of the other requirements. When my time was up I called to make sure that there would be no reason why I would not receive the $1000 and they stated that if I followed everything I should get it.

After I mailed all of the paperwork in, I called to make sure they received it and I would get my money. They reported that I was on their call back list to reimburse me for the cost of the diet but that I would not get the $1000 because I was not one of the first 1000 participants. They gave me no proof of what number I was and stated that they came to the end of the study at the end of August.

I went on the internet Better Business Bureau before the diet and there were hardly any complaints. I went on it recently and there were a lot more and they stated that their study ended in March to pay participants. I did not begin the study until May. This is misleading as the diet costumer service and website did not state this.

On September 26, 2006, a few days before writing this, there was another add on the radio for this One day diet study, stating that ALL participants in the study will get paid $1000 to lose weight. This is false advertising.

I called them to confront them and they stated that on the paperwork it is stated in fine print that only the first 1000 participants will get paid $1000. They thanked me for informing them that the diet was still being advertised as the study was currently over.

It seems to me that this company is falsely advertising and ripping people off. I am probably one of the lucky ones as they did reimburse me for the cost of the diet as it appears from the BB reports that they have not done that for everyone. I don't want anyone else to be lied to and ripped off. Isn't this illegal?
