My father was a patient at this nursing facility. He is schizophrenic/bipolar and they accept patients with mental illness and retardation. He hit a nurse in the face and they Baker Acted him.

Can you believe that they billed me for the 10 days that he was there that month? He was there october 1st - the 10th and he left on the 11th.

Im not familiar with nursing home billing prctices, but this is not fair.

He was there for two months and he was doing great. He had a relapse and hit a female nurse. They should have known this was likely considering his diagnosis. and he should not have to pay if he was sent out.

As one who works in the industry, I find it ridiculous to believe that because the relative was Baker Acted that the bill should go unpaid.  He recieved services, medicine and food and when he became too violent to handle he was transfered.  Why should he not have to pay his bill?  Ridiculous and typical of the indigent population that draining Medicaid and Medicare resources.
