Hess Corporation failure respond to fellow working interest in a Hess operated oil well New York, New York

     The Hess Corporation has failed to respond to the overtures of a Working Interest partner in a well located in the United States.  I sent a letter of participation in the well, in a timely manner, on May 1, 2011.  As I received no response I have attempted to contact them by phone, email and postal mail a total of 7 times.  I have given up this effort.



     I seek a attorney well-versed in oil and gas law.  I would like them to write a letter explaining to the Hess Corporation that they have a duty to respond to my overtures. The company is apparently not categorizing me as a participating interest  in the well (something that I have made all reasonable attempts to do). It is because I am not (I suspect) a participant in the well I will never receive any benefit from the well for 20 or more years and .... possibly never.  



     Yes, the last 9 months has been increasingly painful and the Hess Corporations has thrown me off my business plan and, among other things, I have declined to participate in another well until I can get this dilemma resolved.



     The well was drilled and is rated in the top 10% of the oil wells being discovered in the state of its locations.  I estimate the future flow of money, undiscounted and adjusted for inflationn to be approximately $350,000 over the next 20 years.
