Adoption Associates, Inc. (AAI, Adoption Associates) is being investigated in Michigan for violating administrative regulations and laws when they imposed mandatory fee increases in early 2009. All parents (domestic and international) were led to believe that if payments were not made as AAI demanded, processing of their adoption files would halt until the fees were paid. AAI was previously investigated for such tactics in 2007 and 2008. Its Executive Director, Jane Bareman, has been unresponsive to parental concerns, disrespectful, and neglectful in her duties in running the agency and verifying critical information from overseas. Dear concerned waiting parent,

I too am a waiting parent for the second time around with AAI and I am shocked that people would file a complaint about an increase in the costs of adoption as you knew going in that costs could increase at any time, and that frankly, anything can change at any time in the adoption world.  What amazes me is that these complaining families and yourself could end up shutting down the agnecy that you are about to start a family with.  How do you feel about going back to square one and losing everything you've invested thus far?  I guess it's something you thought through before making a Ripoff Report.  Here's some advice, open your mouth and insert your foot!

Waiting parent concerned that people are making complaints about increased costs in our economic environment(hmmm, you're porbably the same people filing a lawsuit to get your $9.99 tv from Best Buy, or wait, are you forming a class action to file against the increasing costs of EVERYTHING!!!)
