I contacted K-Alliance/CBT Planet with the intention of purchasing the A+ certification CBT that is advertised on their website with Joseph Wentzel as the instructor. I have done extensive research and decided Mr. Wentzel's method of instruction and high degree of experience in the field would suit my needs.

The salesperson took my credit card info and the purchase was charged to my cards. (They allowed me to split my purchase between 2 cc’s) During my initial conversation with the salesperson I asked her directly if this was for sure the course with Mr. Wentzel as the instructor.

She replied "Yes, I think so" ,so I took that as a Yes.
I started calling back the next day to get a tracking number so I would have some idea of the arrival date. I was told they ship via UPS. That is when the games began. From that point on, there was no clear answer when the CBT would ship or from where.

At one point, it was shipping from California (CBT Planets original location) I was told I would receive an email with tracking info. Next day, no tracking # so I called again. I was then told it would ship from their new location in Miami, FL.

Another wait and still no tracking #. I called again after the sales person had left for the day and was given a DHL tracking # by another employee! The shipment was coming from careeracademy.com in Massachusetts! I did not authorize this substitution nor was I even remotely interested in the A+ CBT course that they offered. As I told the salesperson by email, “If I wanted the career academy course I would have purchased it from them!”

I called back the next day and requested a refund and was told that I would have to wait until the package arrived and return it before my credit card charge would be refunded! The original CBT was to arrive on 6/27/08. The unauthorized sub is set to arrive on 7/3/08. By the time this fiasco is over my credit card funds will have been tied up for almost a month or more with no study material .

The main issue with K-Alliance/CBT Planet is the fact that I was misled into believing this product was in stock when in fact it has not even been produced yet (according to the employee I spoke to)! Nowhere on the website does it state this fact! The next issue is the fact that my credit cards were charged for the purchase of this CBT with the salesperson knowing this fact. And last, but not least, the unauthorized substitution of another product was made without my consent!

This company has acted dishonestly ,deviously and provided the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced.

I received the substitute A+ certification course on 7/2/08. On 7/3/08 I was able to reach the manager of K-alliance and resolved this whole matter. I am sending the substitute videos for a refund. He was very helpful and apologetic for the situation that the seemingly dishonest sales person created. Hopefully she will be severely reprimanded or terminated if she persists with her devious behavior! At this point I would recommend purchasing training from this company as the company itself is honest and straightforward.

Still no refund NOT RESOLVED!

Bottom Line is these people sold me and charged my credit cards for a product that they knew had not been produced yet! I spoke with the manager on Monday 7/7/08 and was told my charges would be refunded in 7 to 10 days. Why should I have to wait so long and fight so hard to receive a refund when I should not have been charged to begin with? Now the manager is avoiding my phone calls as well! This company needs to be investigated by the FTC and exposed by the local media!
