Stratford Career Institute RIPOFF!!!! St. Albans, Vermont

8-7-2008 I was VERY excited to get to continue my education and get my HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA. At 29.. I figured it was about time!! So I finish the course but dont have the money to pay it all off, so I just continue to make my payments. 3-3-2010 I make my last payment! Overjoyed , I started looking at Colleges online. I find one that siuts my needs and I go for it! YAY! I really am getting to do what I have always wanted but didnt think that I could. My college advisor calls me and tells me , I am sorry to tell you but you really dont have a high school diploma .. it doesnt count. Its not accredited. You mean to tell me that I paid 589.00 for something that does me absolutely no good and is not even legit??? Then, I come here! I dont feel so proud any more.. I feel like a blooming idiot. How in the world are these people allowed to get away with charging this kind of money for NOTHING at all??? Its not right and should be considered theft!  Here is a response that I recieved about SCI

Ok that is fine and dandy since I didnt do a course and pay that kind of money for a state sponsored GED. I paid for what I thought was a High School Diploma to continue my education. This is a rip off and should not be allowed to keep happening to other innocent people. I know I more than likely will never recieve a dime of my money back but just to see one person saved the trouble will be well worth it.

I like many others I am sure have contacted the BBB. I havent heard back from them either. I have called the SCI but havent recieved a call back.  Please beware of what you do!!
