    ...the right way!
    Corporate Advocacy Program
We used Link Communications to distribute leaflets advertising our company at a few parties and would like to share our story. Link Communications are scammers and should be avoided at all costs. Do not waste your money!! Not only do they charge more than most other companies for their services but they do not provide the service that you pay for! Read our story and take note that this company are scammers and are a waste of time!!

We first contacted Link Communications in October to arrange for one of their distributors to hand out some leaflets for our company at a party the following night. At this point we advised that this was an urgent assignment as the party was only a day away. We also specified that we required a Russian speaking distributor so that he or she could communicate with our target audience. We were advised that this was not going to be a problem. Due to the urgency of the assignment we were advised that we must pay by card immediately so we paid using the company debit card.

Once we had paid we arranged for our company leaflets to be sent to the distributor by special delivery and informed the company that the delivery would be up until 1pm so somebody must be available to sign for it. Unfortunately, Link Communications chose to ignore this message from us and were not available to sign for the delivery when it arrived at 11:30am. When we finally managed to get through to somebody in the office we were told that they would arrange for somebody to collect the parcel from the delivery depot. Another un-met promise from Link Communications!! They never collected our parcel and advised that they would not be able to distribute the leaflets and the fault lied with us. We are not quite sure how they established that this was our fault but because they would not accept the blame they would not refund our payment despite not delivering the service that was paid for.

Countless telephone calls were made and emails were sent to no avail. When we would finally speak to a human rather than an answering machine we would be told that the relevant person was not in the office, on the telephone, in a meeting, on a lunch break etc etc. The emails that we sent were ignored and the contact form on their website was returned as ‘undeliverable'. When we finally got a response by email we were advised that they would “investigate”. Well, the investigation was not very thorough as they still laid the blame at our door despite their blatant incompetence!

The first distribution did not happen as agreed, however, 2 more distributions did APPARENTLY take place in the following weeks (which had been booked at the time of original booking). We had requested evidence of these distributions and most other companies are more than happy to provide photographs as proof of the distribution taking place. Link Communications confirmed that photographs would be taken and yet when we requested them as proof they were never delivered. Another strange occurrence in relation to these distributions is that fact that our client communication did not increase at all following the so-called “distributions”. This is highly unusual because we ALWAYS get flooded with calls and emails from new clients following a distribution.

We are very unhappy with the service that we have received from Link Communications and the situation was worsened by their appalling communication skills and when we would finally hear from them they were rude, arrogant and unhelpful. Even when speaking to the Company Director, he was extremely rude and even laughed about it. We have even written numerous emails to the Director but his response has always been the same – unhelpful and arrogant.

In our case the fault clearly lies with Link Communications and not us as they believe. If you would like to pay a dishonest, deceitful, unreliable and incompetent company to promote your own company then please use Link Communications, however, if you want to receive the service that you have paid for then please beware!!!

Link Communications, Leeds - Judge for yourself to see if Link Communication offer a reliable, high quality service

AUTHOR: Link Communication - (USA)

Link Communication supplies promotion staff across the UK - and was asked to hand out leaflets at short notice by the person who wrote this grossley one sided view of events. The claimant used our services in September 07 to promote a late night drink delivery service in North London. The leaflets to be handed out were supposed to have been available for our promotion teams to collect from her in the activity area 30 minutes before the activity commenced where she would give the teams a detailed verbal brief. This was all agreed in advance, and detailed on the activity proposals which the accuser had read and approved. As such, all normal logistics and courier costs which we would normally charge for were removed from the campaign. At very short notice, the client then requested that one of our promotion staff drove to her office to collect the print. This was organised quickly, but resulted in the driver being caught up in rush hour traffic (on Friday late afternoon in North London). This meant that the promotion staff's first shift of Friday was either delayed (in some locations) or pulled. The subsequent shifts scheduled for the followings days all happened perfectly. After the campaign, a detailed analysis and report was carried out, establishing what had gone wrong on the first afternoon, why it had happened - and a detailed activity report was submitted, complete with findings, feedback and photography. As a gesture of good will, the client was offered a refund for the shifts which happened late or which were pulled on the first afternoon. Link Communication prepared dsocuments to present to the small claims court, but the claimant retracted, as she know that her claims would not stand up to scrutiny. This type of problem is incredibly rare and not the normal experience of our customers. Here are more standard examples of customer comments:

Account Director for Aunt Bessie's:

I have used Link Communication for a number of campaigns. The most
recent was in-store sampling for Aunt Bessie's. I have always found
them to be totally professional, able to come up with great ideas and
work to tight budgets.

The
campaign for Aunt Bessie's saw stock selling out at all stores with an
uplift in sales of over 120%, securing a nationwide listing for the
product following the initial regional trial. I would have no
hesitation in using them for future campaigns.

Ladbrokes - Hand to Hand Distribution / Ethnic Targeting

Marketing Manager for Ladbrokes:

This is the first time I have worked with Link Communication but I know
some of my colleagues have used them at other locations.

I
had initially contacted a few other agencies but the way Link
Communication provided me with the costed proposal the suggestions they
gave me in targeting my audience, I had no hesitation in choosing them
to carry out by campaign. The reporting back they gave me with areas
covered, including photographic evidence, further endorsed my choice. I
am thoroughly happy with the results and will be using their services
again for my summer campaign.

Morrisons - Store Launches / Promotion Teams

Local Area Marketing Manager for Morrisons:

We recently used Link Communication as a test to promote our new store
opening with a goodie bag and leaflet distribution campaign, to
shoppers and local area business to the newly launched supermarket.

The
staff we were supplied with were fully briefed, knew about our opening
offers and were excellent brand ambassadors. We would definitely use
Link Communication again when we next consider promoting our brand.

Case Study: Morrisons

Patient Pak - Retail Merchandising

Director for Patient Pak:

We recently used link communication for merchandising activity
simultaneously across 50 Holland and Barret stores. They were
successfully able to complete the entire activity with just a two day
timeframe.

The
reporting they provided back to us within 24 hours allowed us to speak
to our buyer and identify improvements which could be made. We intend
to use Link in the future for a national sales promotion within other
multiple stores across the UK.

Case Study: Patient Pak -->

Imagination Games - Product Demonstration / Direct Sales

Managing Director for Imagination Games:

Imagination initially used Link as a test campaign to demonstrate and
sell our Battle of the Sexes game in the run up to Christmas in a
number of John Lewis stores. The response was fantastic the games sold
out at every store and more importantly the public really engaged with
both Link staff and our product. We have now taken Link on board to run
our "Summer Seaside Campaign" showcasing a number of our games,
increasing awareness and driving sales.

I
was initially worried about the cost of investment, however Link have
done wonders with our tight budgets, coming up with great ideas, but
more importantly letting me see an increase on my sales. A big thanks
to the team at Link.

Hampton Reed - Solus Door to Door Leaflet Distribution

Company Director for Hampton Reed:

I haven't had a chance to thank you. I think your service has been
exceptional, and you've done your job very effectively. Let's catch up
later in the week, but it suffices to say that this is a job well done.

Case Study: Hampton Reed -->

Kepak Convenience Foods - Experiential Sampling

Assistant Brand Manager for Kepak

Link Communication were awarded the nationwide experiential sampling
campaign for Kepak's Ugo's Deli Cafe Panini, after a five way pitch by
demonstrating they had both expert ability to deliver the campaign and
a very tight handle on maximising the impact from our available budget.

Throughout
the course of the 18 week campaign I found them great to work with;
extremely committed, able to react quickly to capitalise on new
opportunities and provide us with the insight of how the campaigns can
and should be undertaken. Their innovative approach has also had a
tremendous impact on both extending our audience reach (with over
250,000 hot samples handed out) and driving sales uplifts of over 40%.

Case Study: Kepak

Kathmandu - Hand to Hand Leaflet Distribution

Marketing Manager for Kathmandu:

Link were a pleasure to deal with - responsive in setting up the job
and their teams were effective at dealing with the public and worked
hard all day. We will be using their services again.

Link Communications, Leeds - THE FULL AND TRUE REPORT - SHOWING WHY THE CUSTOMER CASUED THE PROBLEM AND HOW WE TRIED TO HELP!!!

AUTHOR: Link Communication - (USA)

Link Communications, Leeds -

Please j udge the REAL story of what REALLY happened BEFORE you make a judgement!

Link Communication prides itself on providing the higest calibre promotion staff across the UK since 1997. As such, WE LOVE OUR CUSTOMERS - AND OUR CUSTOMERS LOVE US! (See normal comments here - http://www.linkcommunication.co.uk/client_testimonials.html) The unbiased, inaacurate report posted above relates to an inexperienced fly by night club promoter (which we mistakenly) tried to help out of a sticky situation, by handing out leaflets at short notice, in September 07 to promote a late night drink delivery service in North London. Normally, our campaigns are organised at least a few days in advance to allow for adequate planning or logistical considerations. She was pleading with us to supply staff at very short notice which we were kind enough to help her with. The leaflets to be handed out were supposed to have been available for our promotion teams
to collect from her in the activity area 30 minutes before the activity commenced where she would give the teams a detailed verbal brief. This
was all agreed in advance, and detailed on the activity proposals which
