I received a phone call from MagicYellow.com regarding advertising my bail bond business in their internet directory. The sales rep said that I would receive a "preferred" listing in the directory, and that they would be working on "search engine optimization" in order to get on the first page of Google.

They required and advance payment of $300 for the year for the listing that would include a webpage. I paid the full amount and awaited confirmation of the listing.

I received an email from the graphics department to proof the webpage and listing description. The email stipulated that "Any changes requested will have to be reviewed first and approved by the Graphic Department for its necessity before it will be implemented. Any cosmetic changes will not be accepted."

The text for my "preferred listing" is grammatically incorrect double-talk as if written by a person for whom English is a distant second language. The webpage also contains errors.

I have called the company and been placed on terminal hold. I have emailed the Graphics Department and not received a response. I have also written to the company and requested termination of the listing and a refund and and yet to receive a response.

I highly recommend that you give careful consideration before getting involved with this company. Their promises are empty and customer service is non-existent.

This situation has been resolved

AUTHOR: Tray Garcia - Sales Manager - Woodland Hills (U.S.A.)

My name is Tray Garcia and I am the Sales Manager for the above mentioned company. This particular client of ours has had all of his monies refunded to him. I feel extremely confidant that we performed every aspect of our service and got him the exposure that he was looking for, but he felt differently.

We spoke on the phone shortly after this report was posted and again I feel confidant that this particular party would state on the record that he was treated very well and because he was dissatisfied with our product, his money was refunded to him in full. We parted ways on very good terms and I would welcome the opportunity to serve him again in the future if he so desires to utilize our service again.

I encourage anyone reading this report to visit our website and view our testimonials section and see the positive things that our valued clients have to say about both our product as well as our client service.

I am making myself available to anyone who wishes to discuss the credibility of our company, the product that we sell and how we conduct business. The people of Rip-Off Report have all of my contact information so please feel free to get in touch with me personally if you have any questions or concerns.

Cordially yours,
Tray Garcia - Sales Manager

Magicyellow.com Rebuttal Incorrect

AUTHOR: Al - Littleton (U.S.A.)

I did speak with Tracy and his report that the company refunded the money is inaccurate. The company refused to refund any money and I'm stuck with an unproductive ad for the next year.

Tracy was very pleasant and agreed to arrange to have my ad content corrected. I then noticed that my ad was removed. It has reappeared along with the refusal to refund any funds. I know that the ad is a poor investment because I have tracking software on my website and, in four months, not a single hit has originated from magicyellow. Also, I answer every call and ask how the caller found me. Not one has mentioned magicyellow.

After signing with this company, I learned of google trends (www.google.com/trends) If you don't know, google trends will show a report of traffic on websites. Type in magicyellow.com and you will get a report that says " Your search terms - magicyellow.com - do not have enough search volume to show graphs." Just what I want, an ad on an internet directory with no search volume. I don't know where Tracy gets the idea that they have given me the exposure that I want. My tracking software and lack of phone calls tell me I have not gotten any exposure.

For the record, I state emphatically, do not get involved with this company. They are not responsive to customers. The directory has insufficient traffic. They will take your money and run. I made a mistake and, apparently, I have to live with it.

I will be contacting Tracy this week to see if they will refund my money. I'll be posting another update soon.
