Granton just opened up a new shop up here in Rochester under the name Ocean and Sun advertising. The place seemed pretty shady from the start, but I decided to go on with my interview and day of observation. Let me tell you right now, if you go to this place, you will get nothing but lies. Granton is a giant pyramid scheme that is bound to go down in the near future. I'm just glad I didn't get into it too deep. It's so sad looking at the "field reps" who work out of the office for 60+ hours a week and think they've actually got a shot at management and a 6 figure income. Many of these people are College grads, mind you.

It was so funny going in on that first day and thinking I would be working out of the office in a legitimate marketing position. Then you get there and you're out on the street with some schmuck selling crap that no one really wants and hardly anyone buys. You're "training" with them, hanging back and trying not to laugh as they accost people on the street with their pitch, or even worse, try to get people in office buildings to listen to them and get kicked out of multiple locations.
The cult-like atmosphere is incredible.

If you are considering an interview with this company or anyone else associated with Granton Marketing or any of their affiliates, think twice. If you enjoy working hellish weeks while getting paid less than minimum wage while working toward a sham "management" position that would only involve lying to others and getting them to go through the same crap you did, then this is the place for you.

The numbers they throw at you when you first start are hilarious. The owner is making 6 figures??? Yeah right. Field reps average 300-500 a week??? I don't think so. (Not that 300-500 a week is great, it's just that they don't even make that pitiful amount) Lies at every level. If anyone at the company were actually making that much, maybe they wouldn't be driving around in shitboxes as mentioned before? Probably the shadiest business I have ever encountered in my life.
