This is my complaint to the BBB.

In April 2004 a man named Anthony Cirrin called me and introduced himself as the inventory manager for superstar properties. He spent the next 15 minutes trying to convince me that my timeshare was in demand and now would be the time to sell it. He told me that my timeshare would sell for $23,000.00 and his company would be happy to sell it for me for a $600 fee to help pay for potential customer incentives (gifts). I told him that I would need to talk to my husband first.

On April 23rd, 2004 a salesman named Mike Roberts from superstar properties did a follow up call to remind me that now was the time to sell my timeshare. I told him that I would like to sell it but I had a problem with the $600 fee. He offered to sell my timeshare for $299 if I paid in full that day. I was left under the impression that my timeshare would sell quickly. I agreed to put it on the market for $23,000.00.

In May 2004 I called superstar properties and spoke with a woman that kept telling me that these things take time. I told her that I wanted to drop my selling price to $20,000.00. She continued to tell me how sick she was and how she would be more helpful the next time I would call. In my opinion, she was very unprofessional.

The last time I've called the company was on June 11th, 2004 and I spoke with the manager. She gave me the name India Alexandria. The manager told me that someone was interested in purchasing my timeshare and it would take 3-4 weeks. I haven't heard from this company since they accepted my payment of $299.

I feel that I have been manipulated misled by this company and it's employees. I will not be satisfied until I get all of my money back.

This is Superstar Properties response to my complaint.

In response to this complaint from the customer...We are just an advertising source similar to your local auto trader or newspaper. Our paperwork states that WE ARE AN ADVERTISING COMPANY. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE A BUYER IN ANY CERTAIN TIMEFRAME. These timeshares are luxury items and they will not sell overnight. It does take time and we are still working on Christmas timeshare week, We hope someone makes her an acceptable offer soon.

Sincerely, John Hofferbert
CEO

This is my response back to the BBB.

I would like to start by saying that EVERYONE that I ever spoken to at Superstar Properties has never mentioned that they are just an advertising company. I was told that the $300 helps pay for incentives for potential customers. This company led me to believe that my timeshare was in high demand. I truly believe that this company is misleading and uses deceptive selling practices. This company DID NOT ever provide me with sound professional advice. Ever since I gave them the $300.00, I have never heard back from this company. I have always had to call them. According to their response letter, I do not feel that
they have tried to resolve this issue. They have signed a “Code of Ethics Agreement” with the Better Business Bureau (Serving: Southeast Florida) and in my opinion I believe that they have violated a numerous portion of the agreement. They have not shown any effort towards reaching a mutually satisfying agreement. I will not rest until I get justice! I work hard for my money and I will not rest until this issue is resolved.

Thank you for your time and all that you do to try and help consumers like myself.

This is Superstar Properties response.

In response to this complaint letter from the customer...Our paperwork that we send to the customer even says WE DO NOT GUARANTEE A BUYER IN ANY CERTAN TIMEFRAME. I HAVE INCLUDED HER OWNERS FORM. We are just an advertising company similar to your local auto trader.

Sincerely, John Hofferbert
CEO

This is the BBB's response.

As a neutral third party administrator, the Better Business Bureau relies on the voluntary cooperation of businesses to act responsibly and make adjustments in the interest of fairness and good customer service. In certain instances however, we are unable to reach a solution to a consumer's problem.

The Better Business Bureau has closed the complaint between you and the above company as unresolved.

This company is a member of the Better Business Bureau and a participant in the arbitration program, which means that the company has agreed to arbitrate any unresolved complaints. The arbitration is "binding" on both parties. If you are interested in "binding" arbitration with the company, please let us know in writing in the next ten days.

I immediately wrote out the arbitrate letter and mailed it. I'm waiting to see what happens next. I cannot rest until I get justice.

#1 Owner of Company

BUYER!!!

AUTHOR: John - Pompano Beach (U.S.A.)

My name is John Hofferbert and I would first like to start by saying that our paperwork will say that we do not guarantee a buyer in any certain timeframe. If anyone out there owns a timeshare and would like to sell it. Its flat out simple, the better your price the faster it will sell period!! If a company calls you and tells you they have a buyer in the wings, now just pay them 600 dollars for closing, deed or paperwork ITS FALSE!!!!! DO NOT DO IT! We are just an advertising company that is proud members of the BBB. We have posted the 50,000 bond with the State of Florida. Superstar Properties does business the correct way. Also This customer who did complain about her timeshare has a week in Hawaii for sale and we did find someone to make her an offer for 19,500. She declined the offer.

#2 Update By Author

IN 4 YEARS I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED A CALL OR NOTICE ABOUT A PROSPECTIVE BUYER!!!

AUTHOR: Christina - Ariel (U.S.A.)

John Hofferbert, you are a LIAR!

DO NOT believe what he said!

The year is now 2008 and I have NEVER heard from anyone associated with this company since I started to file complaints. I came to this site tonight to research a totally different company and then checked to see if my complaint was still online about Superstar Properties. I was in total shock to see that the owner of the company took the time to respond to my complaint by saying that his company had found me a buyer. I would have taken the offer if someone had actually tried or actually contacted me.

If you are doing research on this company then I hope that you come across my complaint and you run the other way and never do business with this man and his deceptive company! It's a total SCAM!

But hey John, if you happen to find an actual buyer with a REAL offer then please contact me through this website since I've recently moved to Washington State and for the last year you have not had any of my current contact information. I really saw no point of keeping you current on my whereabouts. Why bother? You're just going to keep wasting my time!!! I've learned my lesson and now I will avoid doing business with telemarketing companies.

Thanks for nothing,
Christina
