American Home Servicing - AHMSI prolonging customers to increase fees for repayments Irvine Texas

I purchased my home form Option One Mortgage in '06. I work for the automobile industry as the demand for automobiles started to decline, employees were being displaced. I was placed in a positon and my income was decreased. I got behind on my mortgage and AHMSI placed me on a repayment plan. Now the repayment plan I discussed with the customer service representative was not the plan I received in the mail. But desperate to keep my home, I went ahead complained and signed it. The payments were even higher than my previous amount! I contacted them again and asked for a loan modification in March of '08. I was given the loan modification. I started working overtime to keep up with my mortgage. Then my company said that they would not pay anymore overtime. I contacted AHMSI in August and said that my payment would be 12 days late but I will pay it. They told me if I couldn't pay it on time then I would go into foreclosure. Well I couldn't pay. So I would ask them to give me reinstatement amounts which they never could right away. I always had to call back 3 or 4 times before I could get an answer. And by that time the fee had increased by 1200+ dollars. I would call each week trying to save up for the next amount they gave me but I could never catch up to them. The service reps would always give me different answers and I would have to repeat my story each time. Some reps would say I couldn't get on a repayment plan others would say it was ok. My home has a sale date of 2/18/09. I called back on 1/26 because I was told I could pay $4300 by the 30th and get on a repayment plan again and that was the date to call because you have to pay within 7 days. I spoke to a lady who said no you are now eligible for a loan modification. I informed her that loan modifications are only available once a year and that I would not be able to apply until March '09 and that would be too late. She reassured me to go ahead and apply. I did so on 1/27/09, faxing all the information in. Today I called back and I was told I could not apply until March '09 and in order to be placed on a repayment plan I had to pay $5500 within 7 days! This company would rather have their customers go into foreclosure than to help them. They only have 1 option to help their customers (repayment) because they will not give their customers loan modifications. The repayment plan is not a good idea because they give you a monthly payment that is outrageous knowing you cannot keep up with it. I am now thinking of filing bankruptcy. I really do not know what to do. All I know is that the government should look into this company and how they are cheating hard working Americans out of their money.
