I arrived at the interview 10 mintues early and found a very non-descript office on the top floor at the very end of the hall. Everything about the office was very generic and the receptionist was the same girl I spoke with on the phone, she was HR and the receptionist.

There was 4 people scheduled for a 4 pm interview and what was supposed to be a 20 to 30 minute interview lasted 3 minutes and he couldn't even tell me what the job entelled except it had something to do with AT&T. He was concerned with what kind of car I drove and who my car insurance was with.

At the end of the interview, Aaron said he would call me before 7 pm on Monday and if I didn't hear from him, the job went to someone else. Thank God I didn't get a call and I'd like to thank Aaron for wasting my Friday afternoon.

Sales Scam Setup

AUTHOR: John - Memphis (U.S.A.)

Looks like this was a 'front' for a sales operation, possibly selling perfume in parking lots. He was probably sizing you up to shuttle sales reps to remote sales locations. You would have provided unreimbursed mileage for this clowns scam. He may still call you if the other people bail on him (very likely).

recent phone call

AUTHOR: alias - (United States of America)

So I just got off the phone with "HR", the woman that emailed me earlier today, who unfortunately has to answer the phones as well.  I was a little skeptical about them before I even called, then while she was getting my resume, I happened to google them and found a couple of these posts.

It started off with her asking me what I was looking for in a job, I said business development, consulting, sales.  I mentioned where I had worked and what I had done in the past.  She pretty much dismissed everything I said, said this job is really about marketing, then spun off into saying it leads to management and they have a couple of new offices they are opening by the end of the year.  I said oh what kind of offices?  She answered well marketing of course.  I asked her some questions about this, none that she could answer.  I asked how many offices they had, she said wow too many to remember.  Being a very new company I would think this would be one of their number one selling points showing their success.  She finally said we have over 100.  From their Linkedin profile they only have 11-50 employees.  Must be you have to work a couple offices?

She asked if I could come in for an interview tomorrow....I've never had an interview with a business on a Saturday.  Due to my current situation, I declined and said maybe later in the week.  The whole thing seems very odd to me.  I'm curious to see what kind of responses other people have.

Yes, the HR and secretary are the same woman, Leslie. And yes, we do have a few mix ups with our interviews at times, who doesn't? The interview process is definitely different from the normal one of corporate America. As a current employee, I still remember mine. Aaron sat me down and took and interest in my personal life. Not just going over the standardized resume checklist. He was inquisitive and answered some of the questions I had, but not all. The first interview is not to tell you about the job, but to get to know you. Obviously Aaron was spot on about this particular interview. The second round interview is to help you see exactly what we do and teach you a lot about the company and the system. I love the way Mr.Barfield has set up this process to weed out those who are not best suited for this job. As you can tell, it's a proven system that works.
