Last year, I bought a Magic Jack that worked just fine. Half-way during the year, a pop up appeared in my Magic Jack directory inviting me to extend the life for another 5 years for a total cost of $59+. This would be about $1.00 a month for a voice over internet connection that people told me, was very reasonable. I was happy with the product and even told others about this product.

After I made the card payment, I realized that my Magic Jack now had a new number. I thought to myself...Oh, they created another account number...so now I am now entitled to less than 5 years of service. I did not really mind that so much until this July when I realized that the Magic Jack no longer carried a number. Instead it said my subscription expired.

I had contacted others who have Magic Jack and they told me to try the website and even the http://www.magictechph.com/support.html address. I even went back to the mail that they sent with instructions that are dead-enders and that never enable you to link up with the claim code. Their online tech assistance guide is a finished set of machine automated questions and answers -- none of which are relevant to my queries. Searches all yield negative results. Even the live technician site throws out a message that they are repairing the site.

Had I not chanced upon this website, I would not have realized that I am not the only one with this problem.

The fact that they advertised and continue to do so, accept payment, change your number, provide instructions to a site that can never allow you to claim your product, provide addresses and links that are also dead enders, is indicative of their bad faith. This is mail fraud via the internet.

If I cannot communicate with them, how am I to get the product to work for the extended period I paid for? How will I verify whether or not they are ripping off customers like me? What agency can I count on? Money I put behind this is also hard earned and I thought it was an investment.

I hope that they respond to me and to others like me as this seems to be the only way I can communicate my problem.

Sincerely,

Mariel
