First, for class action purposes around the country, anyone who purchased the Scott Estill's 2006 Edition of the "Tax Secrets of the Millionaires" is in the same position I am.
For lawyers, multiply $1395.36 for the program times how many people in all the EXPOS that James Patrick or Scott Estill's group performed at and this probably wasn't the first year they used old materials passing them off as new, so you might have a good couple of hundred maybe thousands of people at least.
I bought it thinking it contained 2006 information only to find out it did not. They were careless and negligent in their duty to their clients, passing off old materials and they knew it.
At the 2006 Anaheim EXPO Patrick James stood on stage touting how Scott Estill, an ex IRS Senior Tax Attorney was going to give you the LATEST and most Up To Date Tax Products and Informtaion. What separated him was his background and that his information would be the most up to date since he was an ex IRS man. But you only had the next 20 minutes to run up to the people at the booths to get the packages.
What you ended up with was a new coverpage placed on top of the folder with pages leftover from 2005/2004 (examples inside include old tax laws such as the extension laws that had already changed and yet his packet does not show that!) I have other examples.
The CD Audio programs that you get are supposed to be from 2006 year as well but are from 2003 and are even stamped 2003 on them. They are barely audible half the time and come from a class that Scott Estill held and the information on those are certainly not recent as stated in the EXPO to be the Latest Tax Secrets & Strategies.
They are selling you on it being up to date and because Mr. Estill was an IRS Tax Attorney, he has the most up to date information. It's just a big rip off.
As an Attorney & an Accountant, you would expect nothing less than acting in a lawful and precise manner, of which I do not believe they are here. I gave Mr. Estill's office the opportunity to make this right and was told I would have to go through the Learning Annex.
Although Joe, the manager for Scott Estill's office told me specifically that I was correct that the information was old and that they were, in fact, getting ready to update it, he could not refund my money.
He also told me that everything I was stating and the examples I gave him were correct as to my findings in the dispute.
Joe offered to send me the new stuff when they were done and it came out. I felt that I already questioned their integrity passing off old information as if it were new to unsuspecting people paying large sums of money. They were selling to hundreds of people across the country. They called me later that week to sell me over the phone on a program of which I flatly turned down.
I contacted the Learning Annex through the only number on their forms and it turned out to be a fax number. I disputed this through my credit card company but lost due to the Learning Annex's ability to play their knowledge of the cancel policy.
It appears their cancel policy is a document that is attached on all four edges of the back of the sales contract but you wouldn't know to look for it because it is cleverly hidden print side down.
I have a 12 page document I would be happy to send to anyone interested with other information that I faxed to dispute this. I was turned down because the 3 day cancel policy expired, not because any of my dispute was incorrect.
When you are at a weekend EXPO and you purchase several programs and return home, you don't get the opportunity to go through all the hundreds of pages and CD's within the 3 business days that the Learning Annex gives you and they know it.
If they really wanted happy customers, they would not conceal their cancel policy on the back, print side down. They would have contact phone numbers instead of just a fax number.
William Zanker, if you really care about how people feel about your company that you built and you care about the integrity of the company, I suggest you remedy this and return my money as Mr. Estill's office stated only the Learning Annex could do that.
I trusted you with the people you brought into the EXPO, I paid my hard earned money and spent all 3 days making your event successful. You contact me via my email to come to all your sales promotions, you can contact me to clean up something I trusted you on.
Thank you for this forum.
