I booked a ticket for my girlfriend but she was unable to make the flight at the last minute (no show).

However, I was told that we could obtain a partial refund from Expedia. When I emailed them they told me:

'We apologize for this inconvenience but we cannot handle this request, as we are limited in providing assistance via e-mail correspondence. In matters such as these, we need to have you on the line while we assist you. Please contact our 24-hour support desk at 1-800-EXPEDIA (1-800-3973342) or 1 404 728 8787 for callers outside the U.S. and Canada.'

When I call the US (from Singapore) I am asked to wait on hold pending resolution and I wait almost 1/2 hour before giving up. This has happened twice.

I don't know how much the partial refund is, but by simply ignoring the call they are effectively avoiding the responsibility as it becomes not worthwhile for me to pursue it.

As I live in Singapore it is harder for me to seek any legal remedies.
