I was looking to replace the bulldog my family lost last year so I went to google on the off-chance I could find free english bulldog puppies. I found one that said it was where I lived and had pictures. The story was that the man had lost his wife and son in a car accident and couldn't care for the puppies because he had to work so he would give them to someone for free. They were supposedly 11 weeks, had all papers, were trained, had chips in them and he offered to send me all information. I emailed him saying I was interested and he wrote back saying I would only have to pay the transportation costs of $400. I agreed to this and he said he'd have the transportation company write to me. I received an email from the company which had a format very much like a chain letter complete with the same font type, hyperlinks, flashy icons and random bold statements. It said that due to the fact that their site was down all money transactions were to go through Western Union or Money Grams. It did not, however, tell you where to send it. I began to grow suspicious and decided to look up the site. When I did I saw that the website was "coming soon." I found it odd that the site was International Cargo Movers since Alaska is within the United States. I checked the Anchorage, Alaska (where the puppies were apparently though the person's name came up in a check for a town in Washington State) business directory and it showed that no such company existed. Finally I went to google the company again and this time I saw "International Cargo Movers Scam" light up that led me to this site. This confirmed in my mind that it was a scam and I'd gotten my hopes up for nothing. I never sent the money and I am very grateful to the person who told their story here. Otherwise I'd be out $400 and then who knows how much after that.
