I  was  flying from Charlotte, NC  to Phoenix,  AZ   (flight # 705)  and  had an aisle seat.  I  fell asleep  and  suddenly  I  woke  up  because  something that  felt  like a  sledge hammer  had  hit my  left  knee.  A  bleach blond  flight attendant  looked at  me,  commented  "Sorreeeeee"  and  continued  to  push  her  cart  through the aisle.  Later  she  explained  that  these  kind of  accidents  can not  be  avoided,  -  my  conclusion is  that  a   US Airways  passenger  agrees  to get  injured  by  their  employees,  it  seems to be  part  of  their  way  to do business.  Strange  that  this  has  never  happened to me  with any  other  airline  in  over 30 years.  After this  incident  I  saw  two  FAs  pushing  the cart, one from  behind and one from the front,  obviously  because they  did not want to  hurt more passengers.

My  knee  is  green  and blue now,  I  have  tried to  contact  US  Airways  but  not  received any  response.  Their  reservations  agent  told me to send an  email  in regards to my  swollen knee  to  their  Customer Care department.  I am pretty  sure that  in about 1 or 2  weeks  I  will  receive an email  from them  saying  "Sorry  for  the inconvenience,  here is a  10% off  coupon  for your next flight with us  if  you pay  full fare -  we are looking forward to  welcome you on board again...."

#1 Consumer Suggestion

All you had to do was get it documented BEFORE you left the terminal.

AUTHOR: Steve - Bradenton (U.S.A.)

The solution here was so simple, but I guess you couldn't figure it out on your own.

TIMELY documentation is the key in any injury or property damage situation in order to protect yourself, and hold the other party accountable.

All you had to do was to go to the security office for that airline BEFORE leaving the terminal and file a written report of the incident. They would have given you a copy. Then you could have gone to a doctor, ON THEM to get your "injury" checked out.

This is all just common sense.

My advice is to STAY AWAKE when flying. Did you not sleep at home? After all, this is like a 3 hour flight you are talking about. If you cannot stay awake for 3 hours, maybe you should look at those underlying medical issues first.

Call this number.....

AUTHOR: Uncle Mark - emporia (United States of America)

I would suggest that you, 1: Not fall asleep, and/or 2: Keep your knees out the aisle.

Passengers that piss and moan about everything can ruin it for all, and you obviously are within that category.  And ones that see what they want to see as opposed to seeing what is really happening are even worse.  Do you really believe there were 2 Flight Attendants, one behind and one in front, pushing the cart to prevent hitting anybody.  If you do, then that explains this post.

In your defense though, these accidents can be avoided.  Passengers need not be so stupid as to fall asleep with their knees in the aisle.

You set the tone with "A  bleach blond  flight attendant.......".  Maybe all crew members will bow next time.

Call 1-800-CRY-BABY, maybe they can help.

You are a loser!!

A little dramatic?

AUTHOR: Ramjet - Somewhere (U.S.A.)

I doubt seriously if you got smashed in the knee so hard that it's all blue and green and needs medical attention.  They are really not tearing up and down the aisle at highway speeds, I expect they nudged your knee and startled you awake and now you are trying to get something for nothing. They owe you nothing, in fact, you owe them for wasting their time on silly trivia.

Crybaby indeed.

US Airways for the tough guys: bring your football gear

AUTHOR: Steve - Mesa (USA)

I  got the message:  Avoid US Airways for your connecting flight after  a  transcontinental flight because you might fall asleep and become a victim of  a  trolley attack...   better don't  sit near the aisle,  hide yourself at  the window  or  bring your  football gear  because  these  flights are for  the real  tough  guys,  not for cry babies.
