American Airlines must think people are stupid. I can purchase a round trip ticket from Huntsville Alabama to Kansas City Kansas by way of Dallas Texas for $380. If I try to purchase a round trip from Huntsville Alabama to Dallas Texas using the same exact two flights to and from Dallas that I would have flown going through Dallas to Kansas City and they want $1100 for the ticket. Just becouse they do not have any competition in Dallas, does not give them the right to charge whatever they like.

Thanks to deregulation back in 1978 every airline has the right to charge whatever they wish. It is up to the consumer to see what airline has the cheapest fare to any given destination. Sometimes you have to drive to a neighboring city to save hundreds of dollars.
