This was not intended as a rebuttal...I just didn't know how to post that I agree with you.
It is the same here. In my department, one of the VP's sons is allowed to work with us, though his position violates one of our policies about hiring of family members. Ultimately, his father could hire or fire him--yet none of my coworkers will protest it much because they are too chicken to say anything. In dispatch, one of the dispatch supervisors is the nephew of that same VP. One day, the supervisor walked around saying, "I'm -----'s nephew and ------ is my cousin." He was walking around, flaunting that his job is protected by nepitism. In SkyWest dispatch, almost everyone is either married to another employee, lives with another employee, is married to someone in managemnt, or has a parent in management. The above supervisor walks around treating those of us who aren't part of the caste system as if we are pieces of crap. He talks down to us, uses name-calling, and will even so much as lend you a hand and then call human resources to come over and look what a good thing he did. Yes, I am serious. SkyWest can be very dirty at times. I am not in Denver, though I have worked for SkyWest there, too, and did find the same environment there but very few will speak up and say anything for fear of reprimand.
