Bally Total Fitness Do not ever sign up with Bally they are the finest corporate scum. Cambridge, Massachusetts

I really do not know where the start this all the Bally people are liars at the Porter Square in Cambridge. The manager is called Aaron and he is one of the biggest two faced liar. My story starts when I moved to the area for 3 months and I had went to Bally to see if they have a month to month. BIG MISTAKE, this is when everything started. When I was giving my information they asked me for my debit card and once they tok it from my hand they started to print my a copy of the agreement. Only after the cashed in the money they let me read the agreement. After I saw the agreement I was shocked that it was a contract. Luckily in the contract it said that I was in an "Easy Monthly Payment Plan" and I could get cancel because it is based on your own commitment. I started to get a bad feeling about the whole situation. 

I realized too that they decided to charge me an extra month out of no where. I had canceled more then 10 days as the contract stated and they still charged me an extra month. 

Now canceling has been the worst, going to your local Bally is useless. I have been on the phone with corporate for a month. I finally got my email confirmation that was emailed by corporate stating that my membership had been canceled. With all this information I did the only thing I could do to guarantee my cancellation. I went to my Attorney's General Office. 

Luckily Massachusetts has strong consumer laws and they saw the extra charges that Bally made. I showed them my contract which allowed me to cancel because I was a month to month. The also had all my emails that were sent back and forth from Bally and records of mail sent to them. The Attorney General has dealt with Bally before and they said this was not new. They will write a letter on my behalf and see what they have to say. 

Now Bally seems to be ignoring the Attorney's General Office and the people are realizing how they work. I am telling everyone I know to report themselves to the Attorney General's Office to dispute Bally.
