Fitness USA wont give me a copy of my contract that they say i signed Ripoff Bloomfeild Michigan

Me and my husband went to go buy a new truck and when applying for the loan it came up on his credit report that he owed $1,100 from a contract he supposedly signed back in october of 98 and this went on his credit report a week before the seven years were up for them to be able to report it. Of couse i paid the bill because we had to get a new vehicle and our bank said that it had to be paid before they would give us the loan. So after a week of trying to figure out who to speak to final i got a threw to someone and they took my money and gave me a reciept. I spoke to my husband and he said that he never signed a contract with them but went in for a trial day to try them out and decided he did not like it there so he never returned. For two months now i have been trying to get a copy of his contract to see if he really signed one. They have been giving me the run a round and now they are telling me that he has to fill out a stack of paperwork asking for all of his information and i dont think he should because if they did not have a contract with his signiture then they could make one up with all of the info that he just gave them. I dont care to get my money back because if he did sign one then i have no problem paying but i want proof and they are giving me a hard time getting that. i dont know what else to do. i was thinking of driving down there and picking it up in person but they are saying that he has to be the one to do it and that they can't give me a copy. So we both would have to try and find the time to make the 1 hr drive and they are only open from 8-5 mon-fri and i work 7-4 and he works 8-5. SO we have to try to get out early one day and i dont see that happening any time soon.
