On March 27th my wife went online and ordered a ten-day trial quantity of HOODIA 66 for “only” $3.95.The Hoodia website (now defunct) stated a “10-day risk free trial period.” The “trial” product was received on April 5th. It contained approximately fourteen pills.

On April 10th my credit card was charged $97.41
I called April 11th: a man advised to send product back unopened. Upon receipt by Hoodia a credit would be issued.

The product was returned to the Francis Street address (certified mail, return receipt requested). The return receipt indicated that it was received by HOODIA on April 24 (signature unintelligible).

I called May 5: I was advised “the systems are updating and will be back up on Monday.” I couldn't get her name. She was barely intelligible!

I called May 18th: Again I was advised “the systems are updating and will be back up on Monday. After several repetitions, she finally figured out that I wasn't buying it. Next, she went the “We are customer and we are not authorized to issue a credit” routine. I asked to speak to a supervisor or whoever was authorized. The girl said there was no supervisor and no one in customer service was authorized!

I became only slightly irate when she could not provide a number for corporate HQ. She kept repeating “I'm very sorry sir, but…”. All of a sudden she hung up on me. Again, the girl was barely intelligible! I think her name was Shirley orSherry.

I called June 8th: Spoke with Jamice. She asked me if I had read the “terms and conditions” to which I replied I had and that we only had the product for five calendar days. She actuially repeated the “did you read the terms etc.” line twice.

Jamice finally said she would escalate the issue to corporate headquarters and they would resolve it “very quickly.” Again when asked for a phone number for corporate HQ she couldn't provide one. Yet again, the girl was barely intelligible!
