We went on vacation and left our doxie at the Boulder Falls Pet Resort. We were promised it was the best Destination for our pet's vacation.

Our little doxie, Bailey, was attacked by a dog and required surgery. The bill was over $400.00 plus they had the nerve to also charge us with the boarding bill.

I did sign a release allowing our dog to be social with dogs her size only. However, I did not realize they would put her out with attack dogs.

After much pain and suffering our dog has a scar on her
back where the hair will never grow again.

I talked with the owner as to why the owners of the attack dog wasn't billed instead of me. They said it was because I signed the release.

What a ripp-off!

Rebuttal to Upset Customers Report

AUTHOR: Co-owner, Boulder Falls Pet Resort - Scottsdale (U.S.A.)

Boulder Falls Pet Resort is owned by 3 people with a lifelong passion for animals. We are a veterinarian, a certified veterinary technician, and a mother of 4 human children, 4 dog children, and 2 cat children. We created and built our pet resort to be a truly unique place we would want to take our own pets when we have to leave them away from home. We wanted it to be unlike other resorts that simply "warehouse" your pet. Our resort sits on 1.5 acres with a large artificial grass playground. Our guests get to run, romp and play rather than sit in a cage as most "resorts" provide.

We pride ouselves on being able to allow our guests to play together whenever their parents allow them to. Other resorts are afraid of a malicious client like the one filing this negative report. Dogs often mouth and wrestle with one another as part of their play activity. Just as children get into tiffs on the playground and hit one another or have accidents, dogs can get injured in a similar tiff or even by accidental bite when playing. We do everything possible to prevent injury including personality evaluation, water dissipation, and monitoring of playing animals at ALL TIMES. Animals that do not play well with others are automatically removed from group play and put into individual play status only. To date we have been fortunate and believe this is a credit to our dedication to safety that we have not had any serious injuries. We have had several bite wounds over the years from both intentional or accidental encounters.

Our clients must decide for themselves if they want to allow their pet to enter goup play just as each dog owner has to decide if they want their pet to go to dog parks or dog parties. We have a VERY clear form that explains that dog behavior can be unpredictable. This client fails to add to her report that her dog was immediately transported at no charge by the owners to a medical facility of the clients' choice. Just as when a child breaks their arm on the playground, it is upsetting and our heart goes out to the child and family, but to dissallow all children (or pets) from playing is unreasonable. We are sorry that Bailey got bitten. She has a very small scar that we also regret for her family. The dog that bit her was of similar size rather than an attack dog as claimed by this person. That is further backed up by the fact that the dog only had a puncture wound, no major or life altering injury.

We have continued to have many happy guests (over 6,000 to date) that return to our resort frequently. We also hope that anyone reading this complaint will use reason to understand that accidents can happen, our staff will handle any such accident immediately and with gentle loving care. Our own pets frequent the resort and we hope your pets will also.
