I WANTED TO POST THIS SO IT DOES NOT HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE!
I responded to an ad on craigslist for a healthy, recently trimmed, straight legged gelding, WITH PAPERS- I specifically asked if the hooves turned in or out so as not to waste my time or anyone else's- I was told the horse was perfectly straight-- Upon arrival (after 2.5 hours plus a ferry) I arrived to discover the horse was toed out and had not, if ever, had it's hooves trimmed- not to mention he was super skinny- which explained why he had a blanket on. I offered a reduced price for the horse to get it the help it needed and off her property ( which was full of garbage and sticky weeds - the weeds were all over the poor horse- even in his ears) and asked if she ( Chelsie Cross) could deliver for an extra 200.00 she said yes--- After paying her I asked for registration papers and all she had was some info on the presumed parents--- she she told me he was papered!
After 2 weeks I got nervous that we might get screwed and asked if I could simply pick the horse up myself and get the extra money I paid for delivery back--- She said YES--
Once the horse was loaded Chelsie stated that she had spent the money - but could western union it to us in the a.m. ( SO HOW WAS SHE PLANNING ON DELIVERING MY HORSE IF SHE SPENT THE GAS MONEY??? OR WAS SHE SIMPLY GOING TO STEAL THE HORSE AND THE MONEY???) That was the day before X-mas. She wont answer her phone or email's.
DONT DEAL WITH CHELSIE CROSS- SHE TAKES FREE HORSES AND HORSES FROM SALES AND TRIES TO TURN THEM FOR A PROFIT- SHE DOES NO UPKEEP AND LIES ABOUT THE CONDITION THEY ARE IN- SHE IS SHADY AND WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY LIKE SHE TOOK OURS-
CHELSIE- YOU OWE US OUR 200.00 BACK- YOU DID NOT DELIVER THE HORSE AND ARE NOT ENTITLED TO THE MONEY. WHAT A ROTTEN THING TO DO ON CHRISTMAS----
Remember Chelsie has ads searching for horses----free horses--- so she can re-sell and make money----don't send your horse to her!!!
