Karma Farms Bizarre, skanky breeder of deformed cats Marshall Texas

Vickie Ives Speir and her family of Karma Farms in Marshall, Texas (Woodlawn, Texas, actually, just north of Marshall) intentionally breeds cats with deformed front leg bones which render them incapable of getting around except through hopping in a motion reminiscent of someone using a pogo stick. She calls them the Twisty Cats.
Unfortunately, this is not illegal in Texas. Speir started publicizing the cats in 1998 and received a big backlash in return. She now pities herself publicly, considers herself persecuted, and vilifies, threatens and harasses the people who protest her actions and/or try to put a halt to it. Her husband has left her. The older of her two daughters, Victoria (Tori), has publicly supported her in this and her younger daughter, who is 16, has not said anything publicly against it.

Also, a Marshall, Texas veterinarian Ives uses, Sonya McClendon, has supported her breeding of deformed cats publicly, which should tell you something about this "vet"'s ethics. McClendon's practice is located at 8768 Blocker Road in the Marshall zip code 75672 and her phone number is 903-934-8544.
Also, Ives, on her web site, claims to have worked with Hollywood screenwriter/producer John Fusco, who, she alleges, purchased horses from her to use as research on his recent film "Spirit." I don't know if you, the viewer, want to see any of this guy's stuff, now that he's lain down with this dog, assuming she's being truthful about associating with him.
According to Internet Movie Database, these movies include the following, besides "Spirit" : "Lost In America"; "Crossroads" (not the Britney Spears movie but a film starring Ralph Macchio as a steel guitar player released in 1986); "Young Guns"; "Young Guns II"; "Thunderheart"; "The Babe" (which is about Babe Ruth); "Loch Ness"; "Where The Rivers Flow North"; "Loch Ness"; and three other films currently in production, "Hidalgo," which is about some horse person; "The Rebels", a Revolutionary War-themed movie; and a TV miniseries with a Native American theme called "Dreamkeeper."

Vickie Ives has removed the link to her twisty cat page from her web site, but the page is still up. It's very illuminating regarding her (twisty) state of mind. The URL is

Vickie Ives' younger daughter, Tomlyn Grey, has supported her mother publicly in this twisty cat breeding also. She lives with her mother at the age of 28.

I also have an address and phone numbers for Victoria (who apparently managed to find a guy to marry her despite her character deficiencies):
