Adorable Petz - San Antonio Buyer Beware! Sick puppies! Owner has BAD reputation... just google their name! San Antonio Texas

My fiance and I bought a maltipoo puppy..."Tugger"...from Joe at Adorable Petz in San Antonio. He was truly adorable! We regretedly ignored the lack of professionalism by Joe. He advised to meet us at a nuetral place...later, we find b/c this is due to the city shutting his operation down at his home. Joe showed up at the nuetral location drinking a beer. About 3 or 4 days after bringing the puppy home, he started having runny stool and was acting sluggish and tired. We took him to the vet...the first time...and she advised that we put him on IV...which is NOT inexpensive. After a day on fluids, he was acting much better; however, he started to get worse over the weekend. So, with the vet being closed on the weekend, we took Tugger to the animal hopital and they put him back on IV fluids. After 2 days, we took him home feeling a little better. After consultation with the vet and the animal hospital we were informed that there was an underlying concern of distemper. Tugger did well for about 4 days and then he headed downhill in a hurry. He started acting very confused and having seizures...it was terrible! So we went back to the vet and it was confirmed that he had distemper...which is incurable. They gave about a 5% chance on "supportive" care only. The running total of vet bills reached about 1700.00. It was SUCH a terrible experience to see Tugger suffer the way he did.

After researching Adorable Petz(simple Google search) I was not surprised to see multiple occurrences from other victims of this company. So I called Joe to let him know that his puppies are being exposed to distemper...which is HIGHLY contagious to puppies...he simply reminded me of the contract which was only good for a couple of days after purchase. Distemper virus cannot be detected and diagnosed within this timeframe. It seemed as if he was prepared for this conversation and this was not the first time he had puppies die from distemper. The only resolution to this incident that he offered was to "replace" Tugger with another puppy. But with distemper being contagious, we definitely did not want to go through this again. Sad, Sad.

Please avoid this company at ALL lengths!
