HOOSIER BULLY KENNELS IS A BACKYARD BREEDER FOR AMERICAN BULLDOGS LOCATED IN MOUNT VERNON INDIANA. THIS IS WHAT I SAW WHEN I WENT TO SEE A PUPPY:15 PUPPIES IN A TRAILER WITH THE FLOOR ROTTING OUT; FLEAS EVERYWHERE; THE STENCH WAS APPALLING;15 OR SO CATS IN AND OUT OF THE TRAILER, SOME SICK AND DYING (ONE COULD NOT MOVE). BOBBIE OLDHAM, THE OWNER, TOLD ME WHEN ASKED "THAT SHE COULD NOT AFFORD TO TAKE CARE OF THEM AND THE COLD WHETHER WOULD KILL THE WEAK ONES ANYWAY."
ALTHOUGH MY WIFE WANTED TO BACK OUT ON BUYING, I DID SO ANYWAY WANTING TO AT LEAST SAVE ONE PUP. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK THE PUPPY TO THE VET AND HE WAS VERY WORMY, AND HAD A SKIN INFECTION. WE WERE PROMISED THE PUP WOULD BE WORMED, FIRST SHOTS AND CHIPPED, REGISTRATION PAPERS AND MEDICAL RECORDS. WE RECEIVED NOTHING EXCEPT A SICK PUPPY. DON'T BE FOOLED BY HER WEBSITE! I HAVE CONTACTED THE HUMANE SOCIETY, LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AND SEVERAL OTHER ORGANIZATIONS THAT DEAL IN ANIMAL ABUSE.
HOOSIER BULLY KENNELS IS INTERESTED IN MAKING A BUCK ONLY. I DON'T WANT MONEY BACK; THE PUP IS COMING ALIVE AFTER THE VET, WE'RE TREATING HIS SKIN. WHAT I WANT IS PEOPLE TO BE AWARE OF BACKYARD BREEDERS LIKE BOBBIE OLDHAM AND THE SUFFERING THEY CAUSE IN THE NAME OF A DOLLAR.

I have since spoken with Bobbie Oldham and Hoosier Bully Kennels. She was very straight-forward and shocked that I had posted. She offered to help me in any way. I appreciated her attitude. She explained that she is doing the best she can to make her kennel more professional. She expressed a genuine concern for her dog's health and assured me that they were in the process of building whelping pens for her pups. After she explained several things to me about trying to rescue cats, I felt much better too. She offered to pay for my dog's vet bills too. I think she is trying to be a proffesional breeder but has had some set-backs and is in the process of changing things... I wish her luck now, wasn't interested in money back, but making sure dogs received proper care. I feel much better about her kennel and am very happy with our puppy.

I am not a back yard breeder. I have a special use permit from Mount Vernon, Indiana. By my request both the animal control and Posey county Humane Society came and inspected my facilities. My kennel itself exceeds state and federal requirments. All the dogs are happy, healthy, and get regular check ups. I bought my property 2 years ago and moved out to this residence on Dec 18,2009. We bought an older trailer to move out here until our old house was sold. We have an agreement with the county to remove this current residence within the next year. It may not be the prettiest home and I apologized for it, but it is a home and I finally have my small farm. My husband works 7 days a week at his job that he has been at for 7 years. So we had a leak that caused the floor to go bad in the corner, which he fixed as soon as he got a day off. I do have 14 cats, 3 live inside with me. The others are rescues. 1 was sick and we had it put down. All are spayed with shots including rabies. A rescue offered to spay all my cats for the ability to drop off unwanted cats on my 10 acres. I agreed. These were last chance cats ready to be put down. They are all healthy, fat and happy now. I breed along certain bloodlines in my dogs. This breed was almost extinct and we have to keep a close eye on our breeding to maintain conformation, health, workability, temperment, and breed standard. I breed to follow the lines, keep 1 or 2 back for my program and sell the rest to approved homes. I only breed in the fall and winter since bully dogs cannot be flown in summer time. Believe me if all I was doing was making a fast buck I would not have taken a trade agreement. He offered a rifle to my husband in trade for the other $700 owed and my husband agreed. We received no money outside the inital $200.The puppy did wind up having ringworm( the only one). It was christmas and the buyer never called or emailed me. He sent message to my yahoo messenger which wasnt even on so I never received the message. I turned it on after christmas and saw all the filth he posted. I understand him being upset but he never contacted me so I could offer a peaceful solution. I have offered to pay medical bills for the ringworm. I have still not talked to him on the phone. He said he is deciding weather he is going to pursue the matter further. I do not know what else I can do. I have apologized and offered to pay vet bill. The puppy was not sickly and in fact he was happy with his size and weight. As for micro chipping I would have done it if it was only $40 but he already got a military discount of $100 and instead of cash talked my husband into a trade. I also drove the puppy over 2 hours to deliver it and was suppose to be paid for delivery but he never offered it and since I liked them I didnt push it. Here is a picture of his puppy. Does not look sickly to me.He does look fat and healthy.I took the puppies to the vet at 4 weeks old for a check up and they were healthy then as well.I can and will send anyone a copy of that visit.
