I read on the newspaper that there was a tea cup yorkie being given away for free to a loving and good home. When I contacted the individual I pleaded to have this puppy since we had wanted this particular dog for a very long time but could not afford to buy one. When I contacted this individual via e-mail they agreed to give us the puppy since I had convinced her of our story on why we wanted the puppy.

This individual stated that we were not to send any monies to her directly but instead (making us beleive that this would be no scam) to send it to the shipper. She gave me a name to a remote individual and stated that a so-called company by the name of Pet-XXXXXX would be contacting me in order to ship our Puppy and to also contact her letting her know when I would be sening the payment. All red flags were flying high so I decided to wait until next morning.

I contacted her and let her know that I had sent the payment and asked her when would I be receiving my Pup. She replied by saying that she will do the shipping as soon as the shipping company confirms the payment for the shipping cost. She asked me if I had emailed the reference number (money gram confirmation) to them. I replied yes. I waited for a couple of seconds when I received an e-mail from the supposedly shipping company. They wanted the monies to be sent to that remote individual instead of the name of the shipping company and they needed the reference number. I questioned myself how could this be in a matter of seconds?

All I can say is that the coffee kicked in and I noticed that both e-mailers were writing in lower case and that the spelling was not accurate for both and was given a telephone number to the shipping company. They made it clear that I could not get a hold of them since they were extremely busy. I came to the conclusion that I was about to be scammed.

I have not e-mailed back because I am trying to seek legal advise and the authorities for this so that we can catch these scammers. I have to admit that I was extremely lucky. However, my family and I are still heartbroken and had our hopes up high for this Puppy. My daughter has been very upset since. Maybe one day we can have one but for right now I have thank my lucky stars that I did not fall in their trap.
