Petsmart "Animals Deserve Better" Pet adoption beauty contest - for the adopters! Marietta Georgia

My wife and son recently attended an adoption day sponsored by Petsmart in conjunction with "Animals Deserve Better", a non profit adoption agency. My son was looking for a kitten and found one he really liked. They were told to fill out an application form and provide references. This seemed a little bit much but we dutifully complied.

The "Animals Deserve Better" representative did not reply to our emails, lost our application, has not contacted any of our references, never visited our home, and then finally admitted that they were shopping the kitten to the best home! What an outrage.

In the meantime, the poor kitten was spending most of the weekend in a small cage for other potential adopters to see. How many other poor kids fell in love with this kitten and then were lead on we do not know. All the while this was happening, there were noticeable opportunities to "donate" to this organization.

Our whole experience was a big turn off, both with Petsmart, for sanctioning this process, and with the supposedly non profit organization. Indeed, animals do deserve better and this organization should clean up their act.
