Alberto Canlas of "PRECIOUS PAWS" sells puppys that he breeds out of his dumpy home in Wall Township, which is infront of his business a sort of "Live in" Mental hospital for the patients to rehabiltate from jail, drugs...and what not. I went with my family to look at the puppys he had for sale in the Asbury Park Press Classifieds. He was very nice when I met him the first time...of course he was he wanted $600 per puppy. Which I was prepared to do as we very much so wanted a puppy to add to our family. I went against my better judgement that the house was a craphole and the puppy reaked of PEE. I just wanted to take him home and love him and care for him. But Im not a complete retard I made sure to get his AKC papers and a Contract along with a health record. Well I picked the puppy we wanted, wrote the $600 check (that he cashed RIGHT AWAY) and that was that.
I bought him saturday 8-07-09 , the very following day SUNDAY at NOON I took him to the vet for his first visit ($65), He sadly had Kennel cough...which I stupidly should have seen coming considering the conditions. Antibiotics were perscribed $22. If I had enough money I would have bought all his puppys to get them out of there. 8-24-09 I went pack again to the vet ($65!!) and he still had kennel cough...bad I might add. So more antibiotics and this time a stool sample ($65 stool sample $22 antibiotic!!) ...The stool sample came back and he had bacteria so another medicine was perscribed $18! Wait theres more , on 9-15-09 we went back to the vet ($65!) and STILL kennel cough so we had to get more antibiotic $22!! Finally near the end of October he was better and completly healthy. He is part of our family and I wouldnt trade him for anything but the breeder is a crook and he is just taking people money while moniacally laughing in the backround. The breeder Alberto Canlas tried to tell me he had the puppy check by his vet and there was no way the puppy got sick from him. (I guess the strong sent of pee coming off ALL his dogs was a perfume he bought???) I said MY Vet said there is NO way a dog can get kennel cough overnight!! I took the dog from the breeder straight home to my house and then woke up in the morning and straight to the Vet ...when would he have time to get KENNEL COUCH?? Which you contract from OVERCROWDED places with other DOGS !! Im not dumbass and he is certainly crazy if he thinks I fall for that.
I called him on several occasions after getting a "Not fit for sale" order from my vet that states fromt he US Attorney General that he HAS to pay for the vet bills I incurred from the illness he caused. Not to mention the SIGNED contract he gave me says he will give me a HEALTHY PUPPY. which he didnt. I have tryed to call him and talk to him and discuss this as adults ... ALL I want is the money for the THREE vet visit and medication he had to be given becuase his neglect...Im not even asking for the $600 back. YET instead I get yelled at called names and told I am not a responsible pet owner... and he ignores my phone calls and I have sent the vet bill copys and not fit for sakle paper 6 times and each time the post office sends it back to me cause he wont sign for it..
I do NOT recommend buying this mans puppys.... I am very happy with mine and I would change anything but I wouldnt wish this on anyone...I thought he was going to die from it...kennel cough kills dogs everyday, a if he just got a mop and cleaned we wouldnt be here. but hes a filthy animal. This is NOT over I intend to sue. Its solely on principal...i will get my money back but thats just a added bonus, ITS FOR THE PUPPYS...Who will speak for them????
