Stuart Levine and I have shared tables at major coin shows throughout the country for 20 years.  I have known and done business with him for close to 30 years.  Stu is a long time PNG member.  He is a respected member of the numismatic community and regular contributor to our industry’s standard reference work, “The Red Book.”  His expertise in various aspects of numismatics is constantly sought by his peers, all of whom, I should think, will attest that Stu’s honesty and ethics are beyond reproach.
 
The coin business is a cottage industry, composed of a relatively small group of people; news travels fast. Those who deal unfairly with dealers or customers are quickly discovered and do not last long.  I have engaged in hundreds of transactions with Stuart Levine and have always found them to be above-board and mutually beneficial. The anonymous poster of the above “report” has made allegations against Stuart without providing any evidence whatsoever.  This “report” appears to be a defamatory attack from the pen of a childish, jealous and cowardly competitor.  Shame on him or her

I have known Stuart Levine for well over 30 years, and must enthusiastically second the comments of my friend and numismatic colleague, Sheradan Downey. Stuart is one of the top experts in the world on United States and pre-Federal coinage and Colonial Currency, and, having worked closely with him on several important auction projects, I've observed first-hand that he treats his clients with respect, fairness and integrity. I would gladly recommend him to my own friends and family.

The anonymous complaint filed against Stuart Levine is completely at odds with my experience. I strongly doubt its validity.

I have known Stuart Levine since 1997. I was a collector and customer of Mr. Levine from 1997 thru 2008. During that period he handled approximately 100 transactions for me. During the last 5 or 6 years he was my primary advisor and handled almost all of my transactions. Every transaction was done honestly and transparently.

Mr. Levine provided excellent advice regarding overall market conditions and the quality of each coin he handled for me. My collection was highly specialized. Unlike many dealers, Mr. Levine is a student of the business and understood the rarity of the coins I was collecting. He helped me build a world class collection and provided excellent advice on when and how to sell it.

I would comfortably recommend Mr. Levine to any collector.

Stuart Levine has been a member, in good standing, of the Professional Numismatists Guild, Inc. for 23 years. As members, we are proud to deal in a professional manner, with the highest degree of integrity. Members will stand behind the merchandise they sell, and must adhere to a strict Code of Ethics. All PNG members must also submit to legally binding arbitration in any unresolved disagreement over any numismatic sale. Therefore, in my opinion, if the anonymous complainer seeks a remedy, he or she has a proven and available avenue to pursue, rather than this unproven and undetermined rhetoric.

Please take notice that Stuart Levine has initiated an action in the Superior Court for the State of Arizona in and for Maricopa County, Case No. 2012-000163, due to the allegedly false and defamatory statements made by you (the "Action").  In the Action, Mr. Levine served a subpoena on or about January 13, 2012 seeking the records of Xcentric Ventures LLC containing your contact information and any other messages that you have posted on the website Rip Off Report, www.ripoffreport.com, under the pseudonym "Anonymous" or any other pseudonym, about Mr. Levine.  The information is to be sent to counsel for Mr. Levine at Gust Rosenfeld P.L.C., One E. Washington Street, Suite 1600, Phoenix, AZ 85004-2553 in compliance with Rule 45 of the Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure.
