This is a true story. I have emails, receipts, records.
In October my ElectroluxDishmachine broke. It was not under warranty, I called an authorized dealer to service. They come out and tell me that can't service the machine because it has no serial number. $65 out the door.
I contact Electrolux, they tell me they can't help- no serial number. I call Lowe's. The manager actually said that I must have removed it! I explained to him that perhaps one of Lowe's HUNDREDS of sub contractors removed it. Why would I do such a thing, I purchased a microwave-stove-fridge fro Electrolux/Lowe's at the same time. I tell him I need a serial number, the appliance repair company will not fix without. The manager at Lowe's tells me I don't need a serial number for repairs, I tell him not true, he then offers me a new dishmachine at half price. I refuse and tell him I want a serial number in the event what is wrong is covered under the Platinum Star Electrolux Warranty. He tells me there is no such thing, I tell him it is on there website.
Weeks go by and Lowe's/Electrolux wants me to prove my purchase. I explain to them that I financed all through them. No word back. I then find receipts and forward. - past Thanksgiving- I then contact Lowe's customer service. They auto email me back 6 times with two numbers to call- that DO NOT work. I finally find a live person who tells me "we need to change that- those numbers has been a problem."
They escalate me to someone else- and now Christmas is around the corner. He tells me (with the store manager on the phone) that Lowes will order a new machine; I will have to install. Lowe's will remove the old one BUT- yep- I have to get a Serial Number from Electrolux! The same people who told me I don't have to have a number for repairs. I got the serial number called Lowes and asked about the status on my order. Seems they never ordered or sold out.
On January 20th they finally came and removed the old one- with 3 months of stagnant dirty water in it. I am paying someone tomorrow to install.
The Lowes customer service is horrible. Countless hours on the phone, emails, and Electrolux was little to no help.
I will NEVER do business with Lowes. I did get a brand new washer and dryer: LG from Home Depot in January. $3300 for Home Depot and LG. $0 spentLowes/Electrolux.
My Electrolux refrigerator water dispenser stopped working and my digital clock on the stove is not working. Why am I not surprised? Top of the line appliances and service- NOT.
