About 4 years ago my husband and I bought a very expensive high efficiency machine at Sears (Kenmore brand). We've had to have it repaired four separate times, with the repairs costing as much as the machine itself.
My husband and I live alone, and the wear and tear on the machine is minimal. We take good care of everything we own. We were simply sold a lemon.
Sears refused to make any effort at righting this wrong. The BBB basically stamped Sears' response with a "case closed" rubber stamp. I'm very disappointed in both of these organizations. Prior to this I had high regard for both. I will never shop at Sears again, and am done wasting my time with the BBB.

Have you talked with Kenmore? Tried to call them? They may not want their brand to be tarnished because of Sears. I would also try the BBB again. This time I would tell them that your last complaint was NOT resolved and this time you would like real effort put into your case. I would also call corporate Sears, not just the store location. This can get resolves, but unfortunately you will have to put in the bullk of the work.

But, yes, you should go higher to Sears corporate and dun the BBB again. However, unless you have a paper trail showing you felt the item was a lemon from before your warranty ran out, you probably won't get too far. Also, if subsequent repairs following the warranty expiration were not related to the problems dealt with under warranty.
