Jared Shafer guardian kills another helpless senior

My friend Helen raised four children, volunteered for her church, owned a small coffee shop, and spent many years working with the Girl Scouts.  When Helen’s husband died, Helen moved to Henderson Nevada to live with her sister.  When her sister died, Helen had a nervous breakdown.  Diane Heart from Las Vegas Senior Protective services put Jared Shafer in charge as her guardian.  Mr. Shafer’s cruelty caused Helen’s death. 

Helen had a son and a daughter who lived in Santa Barbara California who had nice homes and wanted to take care of her.  Jared Shafer refused.  In fact he told the daughter he would terminate the guardianship for $200,000, which was 66% of Helen’s estate.  Jared Shafer said “for money I’ll do anything.”  Mr. Shafer told the daughter “I control Las Vegas family court and I get what I want.  I can make commissioner Jon Norheim rule any way I want.  I pull my string and he jumps.”  Shafer continued “$200,000 buys a lot of TLC and that is what it is all about.”

The family went to the police, Nevada’s governor, Center for Guardianship Certification/CGC, and Senator Harry Reid.  Everyone appears to be afraid of Jared Shafer.  The Las Vegas media has written stories in several Las Vegas newspapers, channels 3, 8, and 13 have run stories about Jared Shafer’s cruel treatment of seniors, and the National Association to Stop Guardian Abuse has several stories posted about the serious harm Jared Shafer has caused to seniors. 

This situation has been going on for 34 years, but the chickens have finally come home to roost. Claire A Shafer Jared Shafer’s wife for 37 years packed her bags and moved out of their home.  Claire Shafer said to her close friends “I can’t stand living with this horrible human being.  He has killed so many seniors and I don’t want his crimes to be on my conscience.”  Jared Shafer’s children, Barry and Danica no longer speak with him.  As this report is being posted, several federal agencies including: the IRS, VA, Social Security, and DOJ have opened investigations into the cruel and unethical practices of Jared Shafer.  Bank of Nevada accounts have been taken over by the government, and Wells Fargo employees must explain why they allowed Jared Shafer to violate federal and state banking regulations. 

Jared Shafer profited by his crimes.  News media reports along with 1885 Clark county property records show that Mr. Shafer owns over twenty million dollars of prime commercial real estate in Las Vegas. 

Jared Shafer knows he is under investigation.  He has said “everyone has a price and I will buy off this little problem.”   Jared Shafer has spent his entire life buying off problems. Jared Shafer’s college degree is a fraud because USC states flatly he never attended their college.  Jared Shafer received his position as Clark County’s public guardian because his application stated he had a Master of Business from USC.  This is a further extension of his fraud.  College was too hard for him so he created a false degree.

In 1983 two of Jared Shafer’s employees got caught by the FBI cashing dead people’s social security checks. The employees took the fall and were rewarded with easy jobs with Nevada Power and Light for keeping quiet about Jared Shafer’s criminal activity.  This investigation is a matter of record with the FBI.   What wasn’t known at the time Jared Shafer received a cut for every check that was cashed. 

Jared Shafer your days of harming seniors are over.  The people you have killed are crying for justice. The important thing is to stop you from hurting more people.  The world knows who you are, and what you did.  If you try to be a guardian for another family, they will be able to read this and other reports about you.  No one will visit you in prison. You are where you need to be, alone with your crimes.
