On 1/24/2012 I received a call from Jeannie who gave me a telephone number of 800-549-2999 and information about an at home employment opportunity. She then transferred me to a Patrick James, allegedly at the same number. Not thinking, nor following the old adage "If it sounds too good to be true, it most certainly is a scam", I provided them with some personal information. "I was then transferred to a "John Gallup" who said his nunmber was 888-262-3071 to confirm. Mr. James" called me back after I hung up and left a message leaving the 800-549-2999 number for a call back. When I did I found the number to be disconnected. The number for "Mr. Gallup" goes directly to voicemail. I did leave a message for him.
Do not fall prey, in a weak moment, as I did. As this seems to be a nationwide scam, it should also brought to the attention of the Attorney Generals of each state, as well as the FBI. The number that they called from was 602-688-4544. It is always busy. Beware of these callers and these numbers. I have already contacted my credit card company and made them aware of this. The transaction has not hit my account as yet.
