Roommate Express contacts you if you put an ad in the Az Republic. They promise lots of calls right away. I tried them out in January 2008, never got a single call. I called them and they said they'd get on it and call me back. That call never came. 6 months later out of the blue they charge my credit card again. I called my credit card to dispute the charge. Whlie talking to them they called Roommate Express who said thier credit people would call me within 2 days. They never called me, so I called them. They said there had never been a message to call me and the credit folks had left for the day. I really believe this outfit is a total fraud, they take your money and never give anything in return. Then when they feel they might get away with it they charge your card again hoping you won't notice. Be smarter tnan me and don't use them.

I used to work at Roommate Express. I can't comment on the recharging of your card. But as far as the calls, you sound like you are the resident, not the renter. Residents have to call people too. Renters are notorious for not calling all their matches. They get a lot more matches than residents do. The people who used to sit back and wait for a roommate to drop into their laps usually sound like you, unfortunately. There is still work to be done - after the match! RE has been there since 1986.
