Lori Ross took over my bankruptcy case when I was disabled and unable to work. She demanded $450 up front (which I had to borrow).
Out of the blue, I get a letter from the court saying that Lori Ross has requested to be removed as my attorney. I contacted Lori Ross. She said that I was not cooperating with her since I had not made it to a doctor's appointment (because I had been sick! I had rescheduled and at that point I had made the appointment). I explained this to Lori Ross and she said that she would withdraw her request to be removed as my attorney but that I had to pay her another $300! So I borrowed another $300 and gave it to her.
Next thing I know, I get a letter from the court that Lori Ross has been removed as my attorney per her request! I contacted Lori Ross outraged that she had lied to me. She claimed that she had gone through with being removed as my attorney (with no reason why) but had contacted another attorney and that he had agreed to take over the case for no additional money because she had given him the $300 I have her.
I contacted this other attorney, David Graban, and reiterated what Lori Ross had told me, that he was taking over the case and no more money was needed and he made an appointment with me. At the appointment, Graban denied ever agreeing to take over the case, refused to take the case and demanded $50 for the "consult."
To me this is extremely unethical behavior by these attorneys! Don't trust them!

Before she bailed as my attorney behind my back, Lori Ross also refused to represent me at small claims court against one of the creditors of my bankruptcy. I wanted her to represent me and she had originally told me that was included in the original $450 I gave her. When a hearing was actually set, she refused to attend with me because she said it was "clear the creditor did not have a case." When I insisted she attend since this particular creditor was friend's with the small claims court judge she said it didn't matter if the creditor won or lost since it would "disappear" in the bankruptcy and she refused to attend. Then she refused to appeal the verdict when the judge sided with the creditor (including giving MY evidence to the creditor).
To my knowledge she did not do any actual work to earn the fees I paid her.
