To Whom It May Concern:

I contacted The Soucy Law Firm, LLC regarding representing me in a divorce case last year. I had an agreement reached between my ex and I but still felt uneasy with the fact that I did not have representation. I spoke to Mike Soucy over the phone giving him brief details in which he advised me that I needed his services and that he would represent me for $2500.00. The next day he contacted me and wanted me to meet him to pay him the money. After speaking with him, he told me that he would meet me in a parking lot to get $2000.00 of it and that we would work out the rest.

He never set an appointment to talk about the case nor did he ever present me with an agreement as to the services that he would provide. I would call and email on a regular basis yet he always had some excuse or that he was working on the case. When confronted with the issue that he had done nothing so far, he agreed that he would not charge another dime and that he would see me through everything through the end. I finally emailed him again asking for status and why it had not been resolved, he then schedules his first appointment with me almost a year later.

Why? He wanted to present me with a bill for services that he had done and get me to sign a paper stating that it was ok for him to withdraw from my case. I got up and left frustrated and mad, but I refused to sign some bogus paperwork that he wanted me to sign to cover his butt. A few days later, I receive court documents showing that he was filing a motion to withdraw from my case. 

It has been almost a year. I am still not divorced, my case is worst than when I had no attorney, he filed a motion to withdraw from the case leaving me with no representation, he got paid and did not complete the job leaving me $2000.00 less, has all my paperwork and has not released it to me making it difficult for me to even hire another attorney as if I have the additional money, and he never filed for a hearing or helped resolve what he said he would do. I am asking that consumers BEWARE his practice so that this won't happen to them. I am also planning to go to the State Bar and whatever other agencies that are available to report and pursue him.
