without legal notice being sent to and received by me this firm made a decision against me, in an arbitration case.
weeks after they said I had received papers from a legal firm, they sent me a second notice, and 5 days later a decision against me.
nothing ever came to me in oregon, the second notice went to my dads home in arizona, and when I arrived there I saw it for the first time, end of sept,07.
they came up with a decision sep,30,07
they claim I agreed to arbitration in 2005. that is a lie I did not agree to anything.
now they intend to enforce a $30,000 award and I have not been able to say one word because I WAS TOTALLY UNAWARE OF THEIR ACTIONS!. The actual disput was for much less money.

You may have a couple of ways out of this. I'm thinking failure to properly serve notice and, possibly, lack of jurisdiction.
What were you being sued for? Why do you think they would have sent the notices to your Dad's house in Arizona? Where did the arbitration take place? Do you know why the award was so much more than the amount they were actually suing for?
I'd like to hear the answers to these questions. But the important thing is that you need a lawyer to see if you can get this straightened out.
Unless you have property in Arizona, they're going to have to enforce their arbitration award by trying to execute the judgment in Oregon. When they do this, you should be able to raise the issues of improper notice and potentially lack of jurisdiction.
All hope is not lost yet.
Best of luck!

The National Arbitration Forum is currently being investigated by the Attorney General's office in Minnesota...
I was contacted by the Assistant Attorney General (Jacob Kraus) a few weeks ago because I too had had an unpleasant dealing with the NAF.
If you would like more information on the investigation and how you can help bring these bastards down please contact the Minnesota Attorney General at 1-800-657-3787 (local is 651-215-6845).
This information can also be verified online: http://www.ag.state.mn.us/
The NAF is violating people's rights and has been for a long time. The Attorney General's office is collecting information (letters sent to consumers by the NAF, etc.) to investigate their wrong doings. Again, I would strongly encourage you to contact them, as you may be able to help in the case against the NAF.
Sincerely,
Serenity
