First I dealt with the ever so smooth salesperson that gives you the utmost confidence and warm fuzzy feeling that everything will be allright and that my case is very uncomplicated and straight forward. When first speaking with the salesperson I still did not jump right on it, and he would call me weekly to see if I was ready to go. After about a month I decided that I was ready to borrow the $2,400.00 to send them to do the offer in compromise. I am told that the way that the offer in compromise works is that they figure your disposable income X60 and that is what you settle for......period. Since I was out of work and had very little recent income he informed me that now would be the time to do the offer.

All monies that you send to them are treated with the utmost importance. They will arrange for a Fed EX pick-up immediately. I am then assigned a "senior associate" to handle my case. They schedule a phone conference that they forgot about (that should have been my first clue). The senior associate informs me that there a few avenues that he thinks we should pursue before doing the offer in compromise and worst case, if these efforts fail, I will still have enough retainer left to do the offer.

These efforts go on and on and on. All with weekly updates which you are billed for. To make a long story a little shorter, They asked for another thousand dollars to complete. I did not have the money and wouldnt be able to come up with it right away. No problem they tell me, we will have our Fed-Ex guy come and pick up a post dated check for next week. As soon as the check cleared i got a call from the "senior associate" informing me that his efforts had failed. I then told him to just do the offer in compromise because I could not borrow any more money. He then told me that he was sorry but he had just discovered that my state did not do an offer in compromise. YES you read that correctly, the agreement that I signed to do an offer in compromise could not be done. Instead he suggested that I work out some type of payment plan, I declined and asked for immediate return of my file and my money.

They jerked me around for a month or two with one excuse after another before telling me that I had a balance of 300 and some change but i couldnt have that unless i agreed with the balance. I refused and have since filed a claim with the BBB, I will keep you posted on the results. Do not even consider doing business with this company.
