The scam is that Rick is the liquidator of assets from Smith Barney after their bankruptcy. He gives contacts at GE Capital Credit that had forclosed and repossed the assets from Smith Barney. Ricks job was to recover the assets and sell them back to Herman Miller. He brings people in under a guise that he does not bring but just a few people in and the payoff would be substantial. He startks milking the cash and continues to return for more money as long as he can convince the victim to give him more money. BTW, he spends the money on his son or himself.
