I initially filed a rebuttal agreeing with the first writer about www.claimyourcertificatenow.com. I joined the program in June, making July the first month I could send in receipts. To date I have sent in 18 different receipts between July 2009 and January 2010. I have NOT received a gift card yet. I keep checking their website and they keep adding new information. Supposedly all July cards were mailed out by the end of January. It surely doesn't take one month to get a card. Their schedule posted for gift card mailing has a 6 month lag time from the time you send in the receipts until the time they send out the cards. This is unacceptable!
I have also noticed the "terms and conditions" have changed since I entered the program. They seem to give the company many new ways to avoid issuing the gift cards. One item added is the line that you cannot pay cash for your merchandise in order to cut back on fraud. You may only use a Visa or MasterCard debit card or a credit card. Using cash will void your entire program. I know I made a very small purchase (under $7) at one of the grocery stores, so does that now mean my entire program for that store is void? They also now state that they reserve the right to substitute any item of equal or greater value for the gift card at any given time. I did not join the program to get other items. Another item that was added states that all information on the voucher must be filled out. When I purchased a certificate in October, the voucher contained the line "membership number". I was never given a membership number. This now gives them a reason not to honor my three submissions for this particular store.
The contact information has been removed from the website, as has the long list of participating merchants. The website makes reference to filling out the "contact us" form but no such form exists. This is very suspicious.
I used the address given by another person on this website, www.ic3.gov/default.aspx, to file a complaint about this company. I suggest others do the same. Perhaps with enough complaints, the appropriate agency will take action. The form is lengthy but people need to get involved to keep this company from scamming others! I knew this entire rebate idea sounded too good to be true and it appears as though I was right. I should have listened to my instincts!
