Bob Teel Auctions ripoff Mt Bethel Pennsylvania

This individual's report is untrue. We have no record or recollection of anyone by this name or similar making a complaint or indicating dissatisfaction of any kind.

We have reviewed our payment records and find no consignors or payees of that name. This may be the work of a disturbed individual.

We have run an upstanding business for more than 35 years and are offended that this site would print slander such as this. We operate at a higher standard.

I am an occasional attendee of Teel auctions. Over the past several years it has always been my opinion that they abide by the proper procedures for auctioneers and represent items honestly. Many a time has a beautiful piece come up for bid and Bob will point out any defects no matter how minor. Surely this affects the price, but it is an honest representation to his customers. Secondly, the sale price of certain items fluctuates greatly depending on the attending audience. This is the nature of auctions. Bob will work the crowd as an auctioneer should to get the highest dollar amount possible. I personally witnessed an item that the seller told Bob he would be happy getting a few hundred dollars for and Bob got over $10,000 for it. This type of auction is NOT for the person who is selling items and has a "reserve price" in mind. Thirdly, I could not ever imagine Bob declaring someones merchandise as "junk". This strikes me as so counter to the person I have watched run what I believe is a very professional business. In all my times at Teel auctions I have found both Bob and Frank to be very professional, the staff pleasant and helpful, and generally the customers to be a nice group of people. All in all I look forward to days when I can attend one of their auctions as they are truly a enjoyable experience.

I originally wrote the first report about Teel years ago .. He DID RIP ME OFF no matter if you like him or not .. If you are going to his auction and getting good deal sure you are happy. Try to let him sell your items on tuesday and then tell me you are happy. The ABSOLUTE TRUTH about the matter is that He took my items telling me how nice they were and promised to list them in the paper. When the ad time came he put his typical ad in without even listing one item my smalls. He listed only a few pieces of furniture. I had Nutting pictures, redware, old bottles, pottery stoneware tons of local ephemera a nazi knife , paintings postcards nice jewelry etc and just too many items to list. Not one item was listed.  He also shoved alot of things outside which made them look like real junk on the ground with other garbage. After watching most of my items go for nothing I finally stood up and gave him the ax to stop the auction. He stopped the auction and when I went up and asked why he was practically giving my stuff away he said What did you expect I sell this junk everyday of the week and it was nothing special. Nice attitude. He also said I should have bid my items up myself to make sure I got the money. Isnt that illegal even though its common place. I took most of whatever was left out that night and went back the next day to get whatever else I could get. I know it wasnt everything either so i was out all around on the Teel deal. I knew him for years and thought he was different but he showed me he is only out for himself. To this day have never been back to one of his auctions and I tell everyone i know to stay away.
