I have been looking for a forum to share my displeasure with Fry's for a long time. I just became aware of ripoffreport.com.

Two years ago prior to Christmas, I purchase three items from Fry's. Each item in the ad indicated that a rebate was offered for the product. After my purchase, I received the rebate forms from the sales clerk. I am meticulous when it comes to filing the rebates: all copies made, UPC codes cut out and forms filled out.

Needless to say, I waited about three months before all three rebates came back with a letter stating that the product I purchased did not qualify for a rebate.

I then contacted Fry's and the run-around began. They game me a number for the rebate company. They said there was nothing they could do. I contacted Fry's and they said they would get back to me. They never did. This was for $80 worth the rebates. I just gave up.

But being a fool, I went back to Fry's last Christmas to buy one item that had a $50 rebate. Again I filled out the forms and submitted the rebate. On this occasion, I never received a reply. Fry's said there was nothing they could do 90 days after the rebate expired.

Lesson learned. I will never buy anything at Fry's again and have not. It is not worth it. I assume that more people are being ripped off by them because they forget the rebates exist.

I had problems too

After I carely sent in my rebate to the rebate center in Mesa, Arizona for a Fry's Rebate they sent me 2 post cards with two names: Steven and a misspelled name, that wrote not sending a rebate, several strange reasons. Yet some time later they did send a rebate with that strange name, thank goodness my bank knows me.

Fry's Electronics can not guarentee any manufactorer based rebate

Unfortunatly Fry's Electronics can not guarentee any manufactorer based rebate will be honored by the manufactorer of that product nor can we guarentee the length of time it will take to process such a request for funds by that company. That being said on several occasions at my store our rebate supervisor has gone to great lengths to assist customers in procuring their rebate from the manufactorer or at the least trying to help compensate the customer for the promised rebate back however it depends on the situation and each individual situation will be handled with the utmost priority to the full extent of Fry's power. I must warn you though that I've seen several uncooperative customers leave empty handed and when dealing with our stores its best to keep a calm train of thought as well as a reasonable attitude otherwise any friction between you and the employee's will only serve to delay their abilities to help you.
