After listing our car on several internet sites we were contacted by Cappelli Motors to sell it for us.

Even though he was not listed with the Better Business Bureau and I could not find any reviews about his company we chose to have Mr. Cappelli sell our car under a 3 month consignment contract.  We were told that 3 months was a bit excessive as they usually sell cars in about 2 weeks.  The charge to consign the car was $1000.00 but we would get that back once the car was sold as he builds it into the sale price.

Our contract stated that Mr. Cappelli would take the vehicle to auctions and/or events in order to get high visibility for a sale but only if we agreed on a case by case basis prior to the event.

We were contacted 3 times by Mr. Cappelli that he would like to show it.  Once was an event across the street from him.  One was a dinner where high profile people would be attending, not far from his location.  The last one was an auction at the fairgrounds, which never happened because he didn't get it registered on time.

For the first 2 months the only communication we had from Mr. Cappelli was if we asked him what was happening.  He would always respond that he had to (not two) probable buyers.  Once we decided it was time to get the car back (the registration was about to expire) we were told there was no need as he had a buyer and was just waiting for funds to clear.  This went on for almost a month until we just told him to bring the car back to us.

We got the car back with 1000 additional miles and a couple of obvious paint chip repairs!

All said and done, I believe that what we did was pay Mr. Cappelli $1000.00 to drive our car around and have some fun.  Did I mention the car was a Dodge Viper?

Anyway, I just wanted to post this just in case anyone was interested in our experience with Cappelli Motors.

Thanks for reading!
