Service department will not perform indicated service that is in the Honda Civic manual. The person I talked to never heard of the 20,000 mile service "B" listed in the manual. She transferred me to another extension where I got an answering machine. No one has called me back. They want to sell you very expensive services that are not required or mentioned in the manual. The Honda Civic is advertised as a low maintenance vehicle, but if you performed this Fremont service department's services, you would be spending hundreds of dollars per year on service beyond those listed in the manual.

Here at AutoWest Honda we perform maintenance intervals we feel best suit the driving conditions of most. According to American Honda this is the definition of Severe driving conditions. “If vehicle mainly driven under ONE or more of the following conditions”:
1. Driving less than 5 miles PER TRIP or, in freezing temperatures, or 10 miles per trip.
2. Driving in extremely hot (over degree temperatures)
3. Extensive idling or long periods of stop and go driving.
4. Driving in mountain conditions
5. driving in muddy, DUSTY, or de-iced roads.

Most of our clients drive either less than 10 miles to work each day, OR drive in stop and go traffic. (Bay area commutes) Almost all of our clients drive in excessive stop and go traffic. A large amount of clients drive over some sort of mountain terrain. Each of our clients is given a menu stating services we recommend. Never are our clients told the must perform any services. We only offer choices to our clients, and the satisfaction of each and every client is most important to us.
