Add on Extended Warrenties

I was looking through the Rip off page and came across some reports of add on warranties.
I also would like to warn the consumer to not let the dealer sell you the add on warrenty. My wife and I bought two autos from (Don Whilhelm chevrolet) within a years time and took out extended Warrenties on both.
The only vechicle we took in was the 96 chevrolet pickup, because the battery would go dead for no reason. I was told that it was the battery and that warrenty didn't cover that. the Warrenty was a (bumper to bumper) warrenty. Well I went out and bought a new battery, the next day the truck wouldn't start. I called the dealer and he said to bring it over. I went back the thirty miles and they took it in and they said the cigerette lighter had a short in it. they replaced it, I was charged $82.00 for a cigerette lighter that could have been bought at any parts store for /$3.50 cents. It wasn't covered under the Warrenty. I told them that it was in between the bumpers. they said not. I also have two transmission cooling lines leaking on the same truck. they also are not covered. I would like to know what is and what I am paying the extra $2,000.00 dollar add on warrenty for. On the 4th of Dec. I took the same truck back to the dealer because a inside door handle snapped off for no reason, this also was not covered under the warranty. After fighting with them they again covered the cost, but not without a fight first. After this we asked to have the extended (Bumper to Bumper) warranty taken off our 99 jeep cherokee limited as it had factory warranty and we didn't think we needed the extra (Bumper to Bumper) that didn't cover anything anyway, so we wanted credit on the cost, It cost $1,193.00 for the coverage. They credited us only $1,003.00 when they took it off. we only have 6,000 miles on this Jeep, so we never used the warranty. WHY WOULD IT COST THAT MUCH,$190.00 TO SCRATCH THIS OFF??
IF you are a resident of North Dakota, Stay AWay form DON WILHELM auto center. these guys only want your money, after they have it, if you aren't a big wig in the Jamestown area, you get no service back from these people. BUY SOMEWHERE ELSE.
