JONATHAN CAMPBELL AND RJ PERFORMANCE ARE CROOKS!
This is a letter to anyone contemplating to do business with Jonathon Campbell and RJ Performace - located in Calgary, Canada.
Our company has in 2 separate occasions dealt with Jonathan Campbell and RJ Performance to buy engines from them. Both times, we provided serial numbers to the engines we needed so that there would be no mix up as to the exact engine we needed. Both times he assured us that he had the correct engine ready to ship and -you guessed it- both times we received the incorrect engine. In addition to the engines being the wrong ones, the engines where always late - by weeks - even though they kept providing us with various bills of ladings.
Now to specifically address the incident they reported above… after providing the engine serial # to Jonathon Campbell / RJ Performance at www.rj-performace.com and receiving a price and agreeing to it, IESC DIESEL purchased the engine from them. It was supposed to ship on July 6th to our clients shop in Colorado. Almost ½ a month later the engine shows up… but it was the incorrect engine. When we spoke to him about it he said that he would send us the correct engine but that it was more money (go figure). Reluctantly we complied and sent him the funds. Jonathon Campbell sent us a tracking # on August 21st for the correct engine but when we called the freight company to track it they said that the tracking # did not exist. We go back and forth (see the chain of emails below) and half way through October with still nothing we decide to cancel the order and notify Jonathon Campbell and RJ Performance that we want our money back. Upon hearing this, he said that we needed to send him the incorrect engine so that he would “inspect it and if it was ok" then he would send us our money back. We said "no" and told him to send us the money back and we would send him the engine… he said “no” and we finally agreed for Jonathon Campbell and RJ Performance to send us 1/2 the money via wire and we would send him the engine and then upon his inspection. After a couple of weeks of Jonathon Campbell stalling on this and saying that “Ryan” needed to make that decision… we finally received ½ the money into our account. In addition, we also received a bill of lading of where he was shipping the engine to – and guess what? It was not going to him… it was going to another one of his “customers”. By now not only are we upset but don’t trust him at all so I call Jonathon Campbell and RJ Performance and ask them “If you are going to inspect the engine before we get other ½ of our money, then how come you are sending it to someplace else? And how will you inspect the engine? and by when will we get our other ½ of the money?” – Jonathon Campbell and RJ Performance simply stated that he was sending pictures to his customer…
At this point we decided we had had enough with Jonathon Campbell and RJ Performance and that when we received ½ the money, we would bring the engine to Miami cut our losses and try to sell it and recoup our money… Afterall, where we supposed to take someone else’s word that the engine was complete? What if they said that it wasn’t? Then we would be out of our money and the engine… We made the decision and also called his customer Mr. Hank Brueggen, owner of Turbo Diesel of Oklahoma 405-495-5656 (who was expecting the engine we had in Colorado and whose name we got off the bill of lading that Jonathon Campbell had provided to us) and told him to be careful when dealing with Jonathon Campell and RJ Performance… unfortunately we were too late. Mrx Brueggen told us that he had already gone through the same hoops we did with Jonathon Campbell and RJ Performace… you know… getting multiple bogus bills of ladings, incorrect engine… send more money for the correct one… and he was one year into this!! Unfortunately, we were too late to help him, but at least you are now empowered to not fall victim to the Canadian company RJ Performance and Jonathon Campell. –Oh.. and when I asked Mr. Brueggen if he had received pictures guess what he told me? “….What pictures?” – again… big surprise.
At this point I don’t want to talk to Jonathon Campbell RJ Performance and I arrange my own transport to get the engine to Miami. As the engine is in transit, I get a call from our forwarder and they ask me if there is a Paige Jarvie that works here? I said no… and they told me that a Paige Jarvie had called them and told them that she worked for IESC DIESEL and that we now needed to re-route the engine to someplace else. – Yep, you guessed it! Paige Jarvie works for Jonathon Campbell RJ Performance. They had looked up our freight on freightquote.com, she pretended to be our employee and actually tried to have the engine go to Mr. Brueggen (who has been waiting for over a year).
So that is my side of our story with Jonathon Campbell and RJ Performace and below you will find the chain of emails to prove it. As I wrote this, I personally called Mr. Brueggen from Turbo Diesel of Oklahoma to ask him if I could use his name and he said of course as he described Jonathon Campbell and RJ Performance with colorful metaphors and he went on to say that if you wanted to hear his story you could call him at 405-495-5656.
Had we done our research before dealing with Jonathon Campbell and RJ Performance, we would have found this link and probably we would not have dealt with him and his company. As the age old saying goes “if it’s too good to be true, then it probably is” and that is certainly true with Jonathon Campbell, Paige Jarvie and RJ Performace from Calgary Canada.

It looks like it’s delivering tomorrow now. It’s in the right city, but the Unishippers said it doesn’t show for delivery today as expected. They are going to call and let me know if it will be longer than tomorrow.

The Unishippers Bill of Lading number is FTW1580491. We sent down a check for the freight yesterday and they were suppose to deliver the engine today. I am fighting with them on the phone right now. I will do my best to get it delivered today yet.
The engine is currently in Henderson Colorado.

I am really pissed off about this and the freight company can’t tell me till tomorrow if the engine was picked up. I am loosing my mind on this deal. Thanks for your patients and know that I am doing everything I can.

I am doing my best here Kiko... Obviously he doesn’t have my experience in this industry. Cause my experience is that most surplus guys really don’t care about their customers at all. And like this vendor that I have dealt with for several years, he just doesn’t give a shit at all. It’s by his schedule or do buy from him. It’s even worse when you want a refund because he won’t give you a refund, he just keeps your money and gives a credit for future purchase.
But I am continuing to call.
Regards,
Jonathon Campbell

There is an engine, and I have sold several of these engines from this vendor. He purchased a large cancelled contract from Cummins that was to be for PACCAR. The contract was never paid for by PACCAR so Cummins sold the engines to him. I apologize for the delays from this Vendor, and I have escalated this to my lawyer who is attempting to contact both this vendor and the attorney general to get our product that is paid for shipped.

Kiko,
The attorney general’s office contacted my lawyer today. They are working on our issue and we are to hear back tomorrow with an update. I have also left several voice mails today and will continue to do so tomorrow. My next step is to contact the commercial fraud unit to seek their advice and help. I would like to have a decision made tomorrow with what direction we are going to take. I will give you a call tomorrow early afternoon.

We supplied Turbo Diesel with the description and pictures of the engine. They are going to compare and let us know upon receipt. Your saying it just sat there so there should be no issue and we release the balance and wire. A confirmation sheet will be faxed when we get the call from the bank saying the fund have arrived at the destination bank. Just like this time.

Jonathon Campbell
